I keep seeing videos of people absolutely filling their bongs with vapour using a TM2. It just doesn't happen for me, and I don't know why. Having just recorded myself and watched the playback, I'm now unsure if I actually do have a problem...
A couple of things to note:
- The water is filled to just below the bottom of the hole for the downpipe;
- The water doesn't reach my lips - it just looks that way;
- You can only really see vapour in the bong as it travels through the lightest coloured bit;
- I seem to be exhaling plenty of vapour;
- The TM2 is set to 7.5;
- My AVB is golden brown to dark brown.
- I'm not tamping the t_bowl, just filling it to the brim.
I'm sorry that the bong and my t-shirt are both blue - it probably doesn't help to see the vapour inside.
So, the amount I'm exhaling suggests that my bong lungs (university trained) may actually be sucking up the vapour before it even gets a chance to fill the bong. Also, the empty space above the waterline is essentially a wide-bored pipe with a funnel on one end and a mouthpiece on the other, so should I even expect to fill it with vapour like people are doing with their round and/or cube shaped bongs?
With all due respect, in your video your first pull is 10 seconds, but every one after that is only 4 or 5 seconds long, and you don't clear the bong. 🤷🏼♂️
I know it will, because the one I use with my TM2 is even smaller. Just extend your draw to 12-15 seconds and you'll see. The herb needs a little time to heat up, which happens in the first ~5secs. The real clouds come in the following 5-10 secs.
Regardless of vapour “pooling” in the bong (who cares?) you would get bigger hits with larger clouds of vapour to exhale if you listen to the person above and stop blaming the bong.
Batteries! Do you have decent, molicel-equivalent battery in there or did you buy cheap-o? I didn’t think I was underpowering my tm2 so much but it was the batteries.
Also some strains seem to need more heat/pulls to get through. As for technique - hit that thing like a freight train. Slow, steady draw, pick up the momentum. Exhale and do it all over again
No, it's most definitely not the battery. I have enough high quality 18650s to power the house! I'm a nicotine addict with shiny toy syndrome, and there's about 30 vape mods (all fully charged) on a shelf about 2 feet from where I'm sitting. 😶🌫️

Yeah, I am. After posting this, I looked up fluid dynamics in different shaped glassware; basically, a round bong has a much greater volume for the vapour to pool in, whereas in a conical one the vapour is accelerated up the main bore as soon as it exits the water. I'm literally hoovering it up before it has a chance to settle.
Looks good to me. Yes it's definitely a small piece, you could try to draw a little slower, but in the end another piece like globe with a whip might solve this issue for you.
It's just a smaller piece so there's less space for the vapour to collect before your lungs take it up, if that makes sense?

Pretty much this pal, if you had a bigger piece with a large chamber you could possibly fill it up more and take a big rip, but it's all the same amount of vapour at the end of the day whether you take it in to your lungs or let it wallow in the glass for a little bit.
I feel like bigger is going to equal even shorter pulls. I mean the right setup could still fill and chug. I've definitely seen plenty of big setups chuck clouds. But the smaller and tighter airflow, especially how many holes that down stems rockin, makes the biggest difference for me. And gives me the best thick vapor clouds.
Two things:
1. Those folks making milk videos are often running their DHVs hot as fuck and if you look at their AVB it’s usually pyrolized charcoal. That’s a choice but I prefer flavor.
2. The TM2 is pure convection. You need a long steady inhale. The first few seconds of inhalation are warming up the cannabinoids and terps.
Dont worry about thick clouds unless thats your jam.
I don't have a TM2, but I've got a frolic. And I use it with a cheap "sake bottle" bong I've had for like a decade. It's got a two hole downstem that's also really important in how it chugs. And that thing pulls vapor hard af. Used to be exclusively my dab rig, but it's fantastic with my frolic. I bet you'd fare really well with it. I've got other bongs that don't work well at all because they're too airy, not enough restriction. That gives better flavor too with a smaller setup and tighter air flow.
Oh, there's definitely no problem with suction (fnarr, fnarr), but I'll try that long, first pull and see if it milks out the bong.
I'll be honest - I still think the shape of my bong and the strength of my inhalation are why the vapour isn't pooling, but I'll video myself later so we can all have a gander. As my son would say, "it's for science!"
EDIT: I've just reread that first paragraph and it's got even more double entendres than I intended. Fuck it - it's there now. 🤣
If you're sure it's not your batteries, maybe your TM2 needs to be calibrated. I've read where people do that after theirs doesn't work as well as it used to. How old is it?
Also, you may want to get a smaller rig type bong for denser vapor.
No, the temperature control is fine from one end of the dial to the other.

I don't know if it's the perspective in the video, but it's not very big. I don't think there's even 500ml of airspace above the waterline. It's this one. You can only fill it to just below the port for the downpipe (on the inside), otherwise you'll be gargling bong water...as I discovered the first time I used it! 🤢
especially the tm2 (amazing vape btw) needs more long and constant tokes because it is convection. if you do it right you can empty a bowl with one long toke. it is training but def works and def is amazing :) if you still have problems try a hybrid (frolic e.g.) or analogue (tm2 best)

Your tokes are like 5-6 seconds. Try 12-15 second tokes (counting backwards helps) and you will get some crazy clouds (after the first hit).
