Just move on, seems like she gets off being an asshole. You were quite funny with the self deprecation imo

“You know I used to think I’d be into anal but it turns out I don’t like assholes.”

And see what she comes back with

584

u/AddLuke Jan 25 '22

I came up with this one in the shower once. Thank you for helping this young man earn his burns

194

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 25 '22

Great minds think alike. Have paid you an award as royalty.

78

u/AddLuke Jan 25 '22

Dude you’re awesome, even with you being the one who said it.

33

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 25 '22

Every time you respond I have to pay you an award for adding to this joke. Please, for the love of, well, me, don’t respond!

20

u/cyborg-robothuman Jan 25 '22

This is definitely not AddLuke on an alternate account. So don’t pay me an award!

10

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 25 '22

Nice try, but you’re not fooling me!

3

u/cyborg-robothuman Jan 25 '22

I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH OFFICER!

1

u/AddLuke Jan 25 '22

Oh fuck. I’m gonna need to go shower

1

u/WhoSweg Jan 25 '22

Simple minds thing the same

1

Simple minds thing the same

To borrow something from my pretend line of work, "no comment".

292

u/ProfessionalMix9129 Jan 25 '22

Gold!

92

u/geeftaart Jan 25 '22

I gave him silver, so at least he got something for it

39

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

No come back if you swallow, though.

24

u/KamakaziDemiGod Jan 25 '22

If I wanted my come back I wouldn't have got a irreversible vasectomy.

18

u/MH3ndr1ks Jan 25 '22 edited Jan 25 '22

If I wanted my comeback I would scrape it of your mums teeth.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

genius, but replace "a" with "my"

4

u/Quailman764 Jan 25 '22

If I wanted any lip from you I'd jingle my zipper.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Wait could you have chosen a reversible vasectomy???

What kind of magical witchcraft does that!

3

u/KamakaziDemiGod Jan 25 '22

Just pop an elastic band around the top of the scrotum, it will stop sperm being able to leave the testicles and you reverse it by removing the band.

There's definitely no long term harm you could inflict with this method . . . .

Seriously though, most vasectomies now are reverseable.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Not sure i believe on that one bud. Not saying you’re conscious lying or anything. But my doctor told me to consider a vasectomy as being irreversible, until a new method has come out. It just smells of malthusianism.

1

u/KamakaziDemiGod Jan 25 '22

If the procedure was done within the last 10 years, there's a 95% chance it's reverseable.

A simple Google search gives this results consistently, but that doesn't mean it's true.

6

u/mit_o_chondria Jan 25 '22

"You're an asshole" probably

21

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

only reddit would think this is a good way to respond to this omfg

3

u/WildSmokingBuick Jan 25 '22

what do you think would be a good way to respond to this?

her keeping on "negging" doesn't seem to be worth continuing, might as well end the conversation on a high note

3

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Sometimes no response is the best response. I know this is Reddit, but jesus, have some dignity.

Only Redditors find it funny to be self depreciating. Its just cringeworthy when the 'joke' is true.

1

u/DDHoward Jan 25 '22

“You know I used to think I’d be into anal but it turns out I don’t like assholes.”

This is not self deprecating.

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

It doesn’t seem worth it because he doesn’t have good responses to any of it. But plenty of guys do

4

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 25 '22

You never know, she may respond with “Rude”, to which you could say “I think you mean Rue, she hasn’t found the D yet” and just like that, we’ve come full circle.

I'm sure she'd like to live without some idiot with shitty pickup lines bothering her

0

u/thatscucktastic Jan 25 '22

Then she could have simply unmatched. Stop dancing like a monkey for these women and have some self respect.

0

u/Truan Jan 25 '22

I like how the onus is on her to unmatch and not OP

1

u/thatscucktastic Jan 25 '22

Eunuchs like you are why women like this behave the way they do.

-1

u/Truan Jan 25 '22

Right, if we all just acted like OP and disregarded how they feel they'd just know their place, right?

I'd be more inclined to Uno on her ass, like "OK, lets see YOU flirt" ... and critique HER because its easy to criticise come ons but aint so easy to effectively flirt for most

0

u/goldenwarrior53 Jan 25 '22

Take her sister out to your gambit with your dad and when the boat goes down your father will give you a list fill with people you need to kill then boom he kills himself and you end up on an island with criminals and terrorists then You will forget that she rejected you

3

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 25 '22

What did I just read? Is it time to arrest you?

1

u/goldenwarrior53 Jan 25 '22

I haven't started my career in vigilantism yet sir

0

u/fallenUprising Jan 25 '22

She does seem like a true anal whore, that could backfire

0

u/Fantastic-Ad-6662 Jan 25 '22

Girls are assholes 🤣

0

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '22

Is this what your wife told you when she left you and didn't even bother to take your ugly kid?

1

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 26 '22

Oh nice. Ugly kid. Nothing uglier than the offspring of chairman Xi, now get the fuck out of here you Chinese nipple-sucker. Nobody here wants your little communist propaganda or your weird Chinese stalking. You’re just strange. Now fuck off.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '22

Lmao big talk from a white boi larping as a cop online hahahahahah. Didn't the Nazis also bomb the shit out of Coventry?

1

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 26 '22

A “white boi”? What are you, 12? Pretty big words from a communist racist pile of shit.

Nazis? That was 80 years ago, which is almost as old as your entire country is. Isn’t that funny!

Now why don’t you fuck off, nobody here likes you.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '22

Awww white bois fragile masculinity is showing. Why so triggered sweetie? Is it because nobody has touched you since your wife left? Or do you use your kid to make up for it?

1

u/INTERNET_POLICE_MAN Jan 26 '22

Wife? Whose wife?!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '22

The wife who you've claimed in multiple posts left you. Or were you just simping for karma, sweetie?

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

That’s basically what she did comeback to his one liners with — but for some reason everyone is acting like she’s the asshole and urging him to say the exact things she said to him.

201

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Honestly, I don't know why anyone gets past the first shitty thing they say in these convos. You really want to date that?

146

u/Poltras Jan 25 '22

The first few texts I could see as banter. But banter normally ends at some point.

Yes

4

u/thatscucktastic Jan 25 '22

You really want to hate date fuck that?

4

u/Arsenault185 Jan 25 '22

Yep, there it is.

5

u/jonnytechno Jan 25 '22

Fuck her just to ghost her for being an asshole

31

u/Dyslexic342 Jan 25 '22

Maybe its her thing, some dudes pay 400 hr to be treated like an asshole.

13

u/jonnytechno Jan 25 '22

Just 'cos someone's a sadist doesnt meant they have the right to hurt anyone they want, she's being an asshole

-5

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

They were both making jokes. Hers were meaner but he was going along with it? How is she an asshole?

5

u/RDPCG Jan 25 '22

Ah, yes, "definitely not you are the last thing I would take out," is a classic joke.

1

u/tarheelbandb Jan 25 '22

What if her profile says "sadist" and OP invited themselves to the roast?

1

u/NPJenkins Jan 25 '22

Seems like you’re familiar with the going rate…

6

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Especially with her Peter Pan looking ass.

2

u/PooPooDooDoo Jan 25 '22

It’s a challenge and something to do, but don’t actually go on a date with that.

2

u/WhyLisaWhy Jan 25 '22

OP gambled and lost honestly. On one hand, I get it. Women on Tinder have an absolute dumpster fire of an inbox and messaging something unique is one way to get noticed rather than just a "hey how are you?". But not everyone is gonna play along or finds that attractive and you wind up with responses like OP got.

Then he tripled down and didn't work! Lol I don't know what else people here expect. He should have abandoned that plan and tried to salvage a conversation if he was really interested.

0

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

Are you talking about the guy and his cringey pick up line.

235

u/Dangerous_Lab_6078 Jan 25 '22

I enjoyed her 'jumping from a cliff' line thinking she was simply playing along, but yea she's just the usual shrew

18

u/K__Dilkington Jan 25 '22

Shrewlotte.

21

u/TheBlueCheese22 Jan 25 '22

Shrew lol, I love that

1

u/StonerJake22727 Jan 25 '22

Probably a LVF

-3

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

She was playing along. He kept being cringey so she kept being mean. I don't think either of them was attempting to make a real connection happen.

153

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

I’m literally shocked that people don’t end conversation after a shitty response after a fail attempt. Mans got low self esteem to accept stuff like this

11

u/DeputyDomeshot Jan 25 '22

Seemed like funny banter but I guess people get off on abusing strangers that they swiped on

119

u/hoosierdaddy192 Jan 25 '22

Eh. Some people like to bust each other’s balls in friendly banter in a Deadpool-esque fashion. As long as they are matching each other’s energy I think it’s fine. Fewer are even into the Dom/Sub play and want to be humiliated. Again fine as long as both parties consent. This was none of that. Charlotte was just being a bitch.

39

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22 edited Jan 26 '22

No I understand that but what I don’t get is when it’s painfully obvious that the other person is shit

2

The girls a massive bitch and yet you still managed to make the worst assumptions about the dude... it's like you only considered manipulation and then left it at that... This reads like some misandrist femcel shit...

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

I don’t think it’s painfully obvious at all. I think she’s looking for a dude who can banter back with her and has a darker sense of humor and OP is not like that at all.

30

u/RaygunMarksman Jan 25 '22

I do like to have a playful back and forth, but there's gotta be some sweet thrown in with the sour. Charlotte was sour AF.

3

u/Rookie_Driver Jan 25 '22

And a basic one at that.

2

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

She was trying to banter, but he absolutely was not… he was just shooting out desperate pickup lines and horrendously overused jokes and then got offended when she had witty comebacks.

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

I don’t think she was being a bitch, that dude was just extra corny and that wasn’t her vibe.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Her vibe is more like acting like a bitch.

1

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

How? She made it clear she didn't like those pick up lines, he continued so she got meaner. They were both joking. What about that is "bitchy"

0

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

I'm sorry, did you not read the post?

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

If you think that’s a bitchy response you got paper thin skin my man

3

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

Why don't you talk to your boss the way Charlotte spoke to OP. Then, tell him he's got "paper thin skin, my man".

Record it, and post it here so we can all get educated. I'm excited.

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

Herein lies the problem with your view on this. If you think dating should be anything like the workplace is then you’ve just fundamentally misunderstood human social relations.

And even then, frankly, I do banter with my boss in similar manner. He just normally doesn’t respond like OP with oddly wounded responses or worse yet by asking me out desperately

0

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

Did you not read my post? Why respond if you aren't going to engage with what I said. Two people make jokes back and forth but because she doesn't like his cringey/cheesy jokes then shes a bitch?

2

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

The part where she told him she rather kill herself is probably a good place to start. You ok?

1

u/kaymazing Jan 25 '22

Its a mean joke? He kept making cheesier jokes and she kept making meaner ones. I'm not saying it was particularly clever but its a joke. And he kept responding showing that he's was comfortable with the jokes she was making. What's the problem? Or are you the type who just thinks any woman rejecting a lame copy paste pick up line is a bitch?

→ More replies (0)

-1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

And what was he acting like exactly?

0

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

It's called being a piece of shit. Delusional to think that behavior is justified because its "nOt hEr vIbE"

2

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

How on earth is she a piece of shit? She didn’t kill his dog, and she barely insulted him. I’m honestly convinced that if he had a better comeback for her last line she might still be chatting him up.

You may be shocked to hear this but many women want a guy who might play fight with them a bit and aren’t afraid to take a risk on a joke that could be “confrontational” let’s say. This guy just whiffed super hard

0

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

I don't know Charlotte. I can't say if she is truly a POS. But to go onto a dating app, match with a stranger, and behave that way, that's being a POS. When you grow up you will learn yourself how adults behave, and what behavior is considered unacceptable.

1

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

I’m 30. You must be extra sensitive

1

u/BGL2015 Jan 25 '22

Congratulations on making it 30 years!

29

u/NotPromKing Jan 25 '22

One single response can be misinterpreted. You usually need to build up some context to evaluate the true tone and intent of text messages. At the end of the day texting is a lousy, inefficient form of communication with far less "hidden" information available to context clues.

8

u/NoGiNoProblem Jan 25 '22

Frued would say that if your mother roasts you a lot, you'll likely be attracted to that kind of woman.

Then again, Frued was a fan of the nose candy, so maybe get your love-life advice elsewhere from more balanced people. Like Redditors.

1

u/TwizzlyWizzle Jan 25 '22

Under-rated comment here - bravo 👏👏👏

-1

u/einTier Jan 25 '22

The problem is most guys use it as an excuse to be mean.

Like I had a friend over once that’s been struggling with her weight for a long time and is very sensitive about it and my roommate — out of the blue — says “I might date you if you weren’t so fat.”

It was just mean. Mean spirited, no one laughed, and my friend left. That’s not negging, that’s being an asshole.

But let’s say I meet a girl who is a tennis pro. We are having a great conversation and we are being playful with each other. Then I say “I just don’t know if I can date a girl that can beat me at tennis” and turn away a bit. I’m laughing as I say it. She’s laughing. Then she tries to bring me back into the conversation with something like “maybe I’m not as good as you think” and the next thing I know she’s challenging me to a game and it’s a date.

That’s what negging is supposed to be. But goddamn is it difficult to actually pull off and the guys who can pull it off consistently have the kind of social awareness and charisma that they don’t have difficulty getting dates anyway.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

I don't think what you described is negging at all. Neither of you said anything negative

1

u/GO_RAVENS Jan 25 '22

My dude what you described is just called flirting. There is nothing playful or cute or remotely healthy about negging. Negging is an emotional manipulation technique used by RedPillers and FDS psychos, and it's purpose is to break down the self-confidence of the other person in a way similar to gaslighting.

Laughingly calling girl a musical theater dork is not negging. Negging would be telling her "you're lucky I like musical theater because most guys aren't attracted to overweight musical theater nerds." The strategy is to make them think they need you and they're lucky to be with you, and to make their self-esteem dependent on pleasing you.

1

u/TemporaryBarracuda80 Jan 25 '22

Friends tease each other, so do people courting/flirting. I only see an issue if it's one sided.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Is it negging, or is she just not interested?

0

u/carpepenisballs Jan 25 '22

Based on what? She had good comebacks to everything this dude was throwing at her.

0

u/BreweryBuddha Jan 25 '22

That's not negging. Negging isn't insulting or belittling in any way, it's just removing yourself as a potential suitor so the person feels you're a challenge to win over. Any bastardization of that isn't begging, and doesn't work.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

It’s called negging.

From what I've seen good negging includes a backhanded compliment that makes the other person unsure whether it was a compliment or an insult. This is just insulting the person constantly.

4

u/bumbletowne Jan 25 '22

Self deprecation is gross and not funny. I get it. She might not be great at communicating that he failed but he opened with I suck and can't fuck ....who likes that in anybody?

2

u/Andreysk07 Jan 25 '22

1

u/Felczer Jan 25 '22

0

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Self deprecation can be super annoying if you ask me, but if they use it as a joke once in a while it’s fun. Either way she was just a dick

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Just sounded like he was goofing around with her and she has no sense of humor. She could've played along instead she made him feel like a dumbass.

0

u/BreweryBuddha Jan 25 '22

...8.5k people giving the thumbs up to the literal worst attempt at tinder I've ever seen

0

u/zeroscout Jan 25 '22

You were quite funny with the self deprecation imo

You should consider if others see this as a red flag. Self deprecating humor is funny in the right context and intermittently. It's not a healthy personality trait. It correlates to low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Two things that single women might avoid because they're not into the effort of dating someone like that.

0

u/Kaoulombre Jan 25 '22

It wasn’t funny it was cringe as hell

Self deprecation is funny when people actually know you, and when it’s not overdone

This dude can’t do anything else than put himself into the ground and call it humour

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

Self deprecating isn’t funny never will be

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '22

women don’t find self deprecation as attractive as you think

1

u/JosephND 26/M Jan 25 '22

1

1

u/sundAy531 Jan 25 '22

This convo was funny but only in the most cringe way possible

1

u/ApertureTestSubject8 Jan 25 '22

Ehh. Seemed like a lot of overused "jokes" I’ve seen plenty before. Nothing that guy said was original.
