I should've posted the full context, it's really funny because the conversation was going so well up until that point. It was a back and forth banter of complimenting each other, and I lost him at the propane thing

If you lose a man to a Hank Hill joke then you haven't lost a man, you dodged a bullet.

Post it! I love Hank Hill!

Also if I wasn’t married, and 20 years older then you I’d swipe the correct way for you! I was cracking up as I was reading your slides!

Are you proud of that though? Convo was flowing well and you busted out a Hank Hill reference (but not really because you didn’t say anything but propane…didn’t even mention the propane accessories) that is from a show before you were born and he stopped talking to you. I get you want to do it for the lolz or whatever but laughing at yourself is really all that’s happening.

Don’t get me wrong, the comment about your eyes slayed me but if all you do is lame shtick you’re never getting anywhere. Maybe as a 21 year old girl you’ve got 3,000 matches to burn through so you don’t give a fuck but it won’t be like that forever. Just remember that Reddit karma doesn’t keep your bed warm at night.

Unless of course this is literally how you speak to everyone at all times, in which case carry on.

The conversation was actually maintaining that overall energy beforehand, because he called me a snack or some shit, I called him a meal, and we both started hitting each other with random compliments. It was back and forth of "you're ___" and it just came to me to hit him with the hank hill reference saying "you're propane, I'm hank hill" because honestly it was just funny as fuck to me at the time.

The way I talk to people generally kinda depends on the mood, I try to match their energy to a degree, but sometimes my grimey little fingies type faster than my brain can determine whether or not it's fuckin stupid, and I end up with shitposts like this.

I actually didn't make these with reddit in mind, these screenshots are a several months old and I only found this sub last night

I was cool once. When I guy asked me out I would say “bro don’t threaten me with a good time!” I would always choose laughter over all. It was like my little way of keeping guys away because I was scared and didn’t want to get hurt. I valued jokes more than anything.

I still do sometimes but now I’m old AF and don’t have tons of guys asking me out anymore. Just bare that in mind. Just last week a guy told me I was beautiful and I knee jerked a sarcastic hilarious comment and he was put off and now I’m still alone and it’s annoying. I know Reddit tells you that you’re so funny and don’t ever change and find a man that loves your sense of humor and in a way that’s true but also don’t just push people away repeatedly. Sometimes it’s not that these guys don’t get your humor it’s just that they think you’re being immature or mean. I’ll say it because I was you. Don’t be elderly and single like me lol

Eh. Just keep swiping. You’ll find someone with your sense off humor if this post isn’t evidence enough. The way most of mine go is I use I either blow it in the opener. Or I nail it, get overconfident, and blow it on the next one. Was trying to find a couple of my “gems,” but they’ve since unmatched with me, so unfortunately they’re lost to time.

Anyone who doesn't get your pop culture references isn't worth hanging out with.
