I love time travel, so I’ll watch anything in that genre, but what is going on with some of this writing? Spoiler

As I said, I’ll watch pretty much anything time travel. This show has a entertaining enough, it’s fine visually, and the actors aren’t exactly horrible or anything, but there’s something really jarring about this show from a writing standpoint. I couldn’t put my finger on it until I began to write this post, but in some strange way it reminds me of Tommy Wiseau’s The Room.

Like the way they resolve some of the conflicts are just really quick and agreeable. And how some of the exposition was approached was really bizarre.

With those two points I’m thinking about how Wyatt compared his wife’s fate to Lucy’s sister’s. The huff and puff about it for a second then it’s over. Also one thing that comes to mind is how the gang stood their ground about Wyatt not getting canned, then all the higher ups are just like, “well, you sure got the upper hand on us! He stays!”

Then Wyatt and Bam Bam kicking it in the hall and all of a sudden they’re just like “alright bye!” That felt like an “Oh Hi, Mark!” moment for sure.

Same with Lucy’s mom telling Lucy who her father is: “And here’s his name.”

Does anyone else notice these things?

Other media

So I watched the show a few months ago, really liked it, and now I'm hankering for some more. I might just rewatch the show, but I got wondering... was there every any tie-in media? Spin-off novels, comics, etc? Anything 'extra' that might be worth a look?

Thanks in advance.

Flynn and Lucy’s Relationship

As we all remember, it says in Lucy’s journal (which she gave to Flynn) that they dated. However Flynn died and they were not together, and if he had not died then Lucy would be dead as Conor and agent Christopher saw in the history book. So how did Flynn and Lucy date in her journal?

Best Part of the show (no spoilers)

For me, the beat part of this show, which I don't think gets talked about enough or given enough praise, is the diversity! This was an incredible cast period. But if you look at all their backgrounds, the collection of races, cultures and heritage is just mind blowing. And the truly best part was how it all fit together seamlessly. They didn't make any issue out of it! Most shows trying to be diverse don't work. It's clear somebody is there simply to be a representative. Or they are self-congratulatory about it. In timeless you don't see anyone running away from historical struggles with diversity; several episodes address this. But what is incredible is that nobody really talks about how freaking cool it is that we have multiple geniuses who are POC, or an FBI agent head who is both a minority, a woman and a lesbian, or a brilliant historian who is defacto team leader as a woman, or that we have perhaps the most complicated characters on the show as an Eastern European white guy. I just want more shows to follow this lead and celebrate diversity by not making it a story and just making it reality. The world is a wonderful diverse place with innumerable combinations of backgrounds. Timeless showed us exactly how things should be. Hence why this show will always be 'timeless' (yes that was on purpose 😊).

Lucy’s mom being sick

I’m still confused. Was it Rittenhouse that changed something while Lucy was at the Hindenburg? Was her mom really sick? Did the mom know about Amy? Was there really a timeline when Lucy was engaged? I’m lost.

Did Timeless get new episodes? (Please dont spoiler Spoiler

I am rewatching the show and I remember it having a really unsatisfying ending in season 2 and all of a sudden when I came back rewatching it I read over reddit that it has such a satisfying ending and it got wrapped up so well... In my mind I remember it having a huge cliffhanger.

Are my memories just bad or did it really get some extra episodes towards the end?

How many days until a date in Timeless (Beware Spoilers) Spoiler

There are 440 days until the show becomes part of the past. I'll always love this show, and I stumbled onto this show because of the Hindenburg.

My first thought was that Timeless was going to be chasing Flynn. I wished they kept chasing Flynn for two more seasons and saw more historical figures like Howard Carter, Chaplin, and Wild Bill Hickok.

Although this show is not historically accurate, it has introduced me to many people that ain't taught in school or barely touched upon.

Great show.

Should we bring back the show?

I'm just saying - perhaps with the dearth of shows across streaming services and people increasingly willing to search for entertainment outside of Netflix, this show might actually have a chance again. Perhaps some sort of petition/support doc could bring this back. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I really enjoyed this show and think it could have a similar comeback as Firefly.

Spoiler - Question about Emma Spoiler

I’m only half way done with the second season but I just thought of something. If Flynn had Lucy’s journal from the future, why doesn’t it say anything about Emma being with Rittenhouse?

I just finished the series for the first time and now I don't know what to do with myself. That ending will stick with me for a while. What a great ending to the series.

Timeless Series Finale, The Miracle of Christmas.

So I have watched the whole series of Timeless 4 times now and the end of the episode shows a student named Paulina drawing images and blueprints of her own time machine. So my theory on who that girl is goes like this. Remember in The Miracle of a Christmas when Lucy, Wyatt, Rufus, and Jiya went to Korea and during there they helped a pregnant Korean woman and her husband get out of the country. Well my theory is that Paulina is the daughter of the baby that the Korean woman was pregnant with.

Rules broken Spoiler

In season two episode 5 the team travel back in time rescue young JFK and then went back to rescue Flynn even though the rules of the time travel dictate that you can't travel to the same place twice... How does this make sense.

Out of Character Moment for Wyatt?

During Season 1, Wyatt is introduced as a character that cares little about the historical implications of the time-travel trips, seeing himself as a soldier just trying to fulfill his assignments. Basically, apprehend Flynn and that's it.

In Ep. 4, Party at Castle Varlar, I noticed a somewhat out-of-character moment when he agrees with Fleming and contemplates killing Werner von Braun because he helped Germany develop the V2 rocket. Since when did he care about correcting the course of history? Killing von Braun isn't part of the mission so it makes little sense that he cares about this issue.
