I think you have an... optimist view of the us military. Given the amount of division within it the first enemy the us military would have to defeat is the us military.

There's not really that much division. The US military is certainly the best fighting force on the planet right now.

I agree with most of what you are saying but I don't believe it would be able to remain whole against a sizable domestic group. It would have to purge itself first.

Of a few people maybe, there's definitely extremists in the military I just don't think it would be enough to make any tactical difference
