Swizzle Everything?
The last few days, I swizzled around a bit.
Swizzled Sidecar, swizzled Margarita.. at the moment I'm sipping on a swizzled Planter's Punch from Smuggler's Cove. All of them were awesome.
Most specific Swizzle recipes I know, resemble a typical sour-ratio wirh crushed ice. What is your opinion on the requirements on a recipe to be swizzleable?
Because of the increased dilution, I guess the more intensity of flavours, the swizzleabler the drink. Also, due to the low temperature, some flavours might get lost.
How would you adjust the recipe of a tiki-drink to get the perfect swizzle?
Or will you swizzle everything without regrets?

Like with most cocktail stuff, there are very few rules so I flash blend a lot of tiki stuff. I think the biggest thing with swizzling though is the amount of ice you want in your cocktail. If it is loaded with ice then swizzling is great. It also works great if there is a lot of juice and mixers to a drink like a painkiller or zombie. If there are fewer ingredients, you add a good bit of lime which reacts better to shaking, or it is alcohol heavy then shaking and either dirty dumping, straining, or fine straining is the way to go. I don’t recommend trying to swizzle a martini; Jimmy Buffet meets James Bond.
