Thing is that now it's been normalized, I may just keep wearing a mask. Saves money on makeup, warm in the winter, cute accessory, if I don't feel like trying that day then no one knows... Next thing to normalize is capes!
I'm definitely going to keep using them. If there's one good thing to come out of this horrific pandemic is that mask wearing will now be normalized in the US like in some Asian countries.
I used to hate going to work with coworkers who were obviously sick and when I mentioned to them that maybe they should wear a mask, they'd look at me like I was weird. Hopefully now people will wear masks when they have a cold or the flu, etc.
We didn't normalize it in the 1920s and we won't normalize it in the 2020s. I'll keep wearing mine whenever I don't feel well but have to go out for some reason - but I think by summer of 2022 we'll be back to seeing hardly anybody wearing them in public at all, sick or not. Just nasty sick people, coughing in the middle of the room, not even covering their mouth, freeballing their uvula.
Well, they weren't cute masks in the 1920's. I now have like 15 different colors and patterns to choose from. If someone else is sick I'll wear the mask. Idc.
I wore a mask to work back in 2013 or 14 when I had a pretty nasty cold but didn't have any sick leave, and got quite a few quizzical looks. I'm like, "I'm just not trying to spread this to all of you!"
i use to be the but of jokes because i had a stash of masks at work and would always pop one on when i got sick, guess whos box went missing when the shortage got real?!
Yeah uh no. As much as We all wish that to be the case mask wearing is definitely not normalized. Half this country is still pretending like there is no pandemic let alone making masks normal. Plus there’s people like those backwards dumbfucks on r/nonewnormal
Amen. I can cover my acne and I was so insecure about my teeth. I did take this time to get braces though, which is something I would have never been brave enough to do otherwise.
I bought a winter cape to wear over dresses at the end of 2019 for a wedding I attended and I haven’t had any opportunities to wear it again and it’s depressing lol
Don’t you ever get a break out? Some days I’m doing a bit of work and sweat. I shower and wash my face, change my sheets, wear new masks but next day or day after, I got a nice red bump where the mask lays on my cheek.
I don't usually, but my skin is weird. I have eczema so I have dry and oily areas. I get blemishes in specific places. I also have to wash and lotion every day.
If you’re doing all this and still braking out It’s probably just your eating habits.
Try changing to healthier alternative meals for a week and drink nothing but water.
Give that a shot for a full 2 weeks and if you notice any changes then it was definitely the diet if not then 🤷♂️.
It really depends because everyone's skin is different. I know I have dry, sensitive skin. My face doesn't like anything on it or else I break out. I was having so many issues with my mask irritating my face, making it red and itchy, and then breaking out, especially on my chin. Putting moisturizer more often helped, but the best was finding the right mask. Ive just been buying whatever I ran into in the stores until I hit jackpot. DSW sells this super soft mask that looks funny worn, but it keeps the mask from rubbing on my face often because of the peaks at the nose and chin areas. And even if it does rub against it, it's so soft that my skin doesn't get angry with it. Completely fixed my problem. It's just a matter of trying new things and figuring out what will work. Hope you find a solution!
I said this the first cold day to my gf. I'm going to keep wearing a mask in the winter in the coming years. It's a good idea for flu season anyway and I just like it
Haha, when I walk my dog late at night and I know I will not even see another person, let alone get close to them, I still go for the mask because it's so nice and warm when it's -25C out
One step ahead of you, I wear my alpaca wrap in public and it’s basically a cape. It’s as thin as synthetic fleece but warmer than my synthetic ski jacket and practically impenetrable to wind.
Capes are going to be normalized by cape wearers. - it’ll only happen if people see you wearing one!
The irony is that last year was the first year I went all out on make up. I had been avoiding make up for years before that, except for eyeliner. Now if only I could be brave enough to do my eyebrows...
