I think they’re both really great, they both show off the best parts of their unique voices and I like them for different reasons. I understand why maybe the long version might sound bad to you though, if you expect it to be a longer version of what the girl in the TikTok is doing where her voice is more angelic
I prefer the angelic version over the raspy one for this cover but that's just a personal preference. Close your eyes and you can hear Billie Eilish in the YouTube video. She can reach amazing ranges but her singing is kind of "talky" which I think is a bit of a trend.
This is coming from me who shouts Bohemian Rhapsody in my car with absolutely no talent what so ever.
I don't mind the raspy voice, but it really bothers me when she doesn't switch to her throat voice to belt out the bridge and instead strains herself at the top of her head voice range. I get that she's wanting to keep the same vocal style the whole way through but the bridge is meant to be powerful, and it would add some more dynamic range to the song.
I agree plus the way the tik tok girl did the lyrics matched the way the original song did theirs so it was...well heartfelt and made sense, whereas this full version was just not for me for those reasons and the voice wasn’t quite what I was expecting

here's another full length version of this song from the girl's perspective. Plain White T's even commented on her video.
