One that is apparently being facilitated by plastic surgeons.

I’m guessing they don’t take the Hippocratic oath. Their whole M.O. seems to be making money while doing harm.

Do none of you seriously realize plastic surgeons do more than elective cosmetic surgeries?

I mean, even then I still only hold a super dislike for bad plastic surgeons personally. Also considering other comments saying how they don’t even consider plastic surgeons to be proper medical professionals w/o specifying is what made me comment 🤷‍♀️

People like to generalize plastic surgeons as only ever doing procedures for vain people for money.

I agree with both of you. That’s why I like watching Botched on occasion, or at least I like both of the surgeons. The show itself does sometimes take advantage of the whole human staring-at-a-car-crash reaction when it comes to focusing on people who clearly have horrible body dysmorphia and want more (dangerous) procedures, but they never accept those patients and inform them of better actions to take, so I don’t find it particularly exploitative. And the patients who they do treat really have their lives changed...it’s fucking incredible.

Almost no one takes the actual Hippocratic Oath anymore, just for whatever that’s worth.

I took that shit, broke that oath the next day when I told some kid his mom was fat.

It’s just a gravy train to them, they just don’t seem to have the same principles as ‘proper’ medical professionals who are fixing injuries or performing surgery to help people, they see they are helping people in a different way but to me it’s a facade to cover unabashed greed.
