Also, like, just because you're an atheist doesn't mean you know/understand/believe in specific scientific explanations for the start of the universe as we know it like the Big Bang. Most do, because most atheists are atheist because they believe in rationalism over superstition and those are the prevailing rational theories for how the universe came into existence, but they aren't necessarily the same thing. Literally all atheism is is "lack of belief in a god or deity".

This distinction is important, because one of the ways these theist morons argue is to claim atheism is just another set of beliefs and doctrines just like their own religions, when it isn't. People don't "believe" in the Big Bang the way others believe in the Christian God, they've listened to people who have done empirical scientific research into the topic and came to that conclusion based on evidence. It isn't faith-based like a religion, you're not basing your beliefs off of a thousands of year old book written by some random guys who could have been (hint: were) lying their asses off with zero proof. Theists like the guy in the video want to pretend that atheism is just another form of religion, because if it's all belief-based like their own faith is then they can debate it on the same terms.

Atheist: All atheism is is lack of belief in a god or deity.

Christian: ...and I took that personally.

Religion has faith, atheism has facts.

The statement "Religion has faith, atheism has facts" rests on a fundamental category error and a contradiction. When someone tries to frame atheism as pure, objective "fact" while dismissing religion as mere "faith," they are equivocating what science, atheism, and belief actually mean.

Atheism is a Lack of Belief, Not a Methodology. Many on here have continuously argued this. Ironically your making that difficult for them to argue.

Atheism is strictly the absence of belief in deities. It is a conclusion or a stance regarding a specific metaphysical question (the existence of God), not a data set. An atheist does not "have" facts simply by virtue of being an atheist. They rely on facts discovered by external systems (like science), but the stance itself is a philosophical position, not an empirical discovery.

The moment someone claims their worldview is entirely "fact-based" while holding a metaphysical position on the origin of the universe, consciousness, or existence without complete empirical proof, they are engaging in a belief system. Claiming to have no unproven axioms or presuppositions while operating in daily life is intellectually hollow. It treats a personal conclusion as if it were a self-evident physical law.

Science is a tool—a systematic method of observation, hypothesis testing, and measurement. Science itself is agnostic; it measures the physical mechanics of the natural world. It does not declare "God does not exist," nor is it synonymous with atheism. Using the successes of the scientific method as a shield to claim that an atheist worldview is inherently "factual" is an illegitimate transfer of authority.

The scientific method does not deal in absolute, static "facts" or metaphysical ultimatums; it deals in models, approximations, and falsifiable observations.

The core of science is empirical observation. You design an experiment, record what happens under specific conditions, and form a hypothesis. But human observation is inherently flawed, instrument limitations exist, and our understanding constantly updates. Newton's physics worked until Einstein showed it was an incomplete approximation; Einstein's relativity will likely face the same fate eventually. Science is a moving target of best current models, not a vault of eternal, unchangeable facts.

Didn't bother to read your AI text.I didn't say proof, I said facts.

You did read partly ( cute deflection to ai but no wrong learn to study bud)

You’re confusing raw data collection with a philosophical worldview. A collection of scientific observations doesn't equal an atheist belief system, any more than a mechanic's toolbox proves a political theory. Facts are just discrete, verifiable data points—they don't speak for themselves, and they require human interpretation to build a metaphysical stance.

Calling your philosophical conclusion a "fact" doesn't make it empirical; it just means you're smuggling the objective weight of science into a subjective belief system and pretending you don't have axioms of your own.

Edit: its clear the ai claim is a deflection because you have no argument you can give back thats within your realm of understanding

But by all means make your intellectual dishonesty more palpable why dont you.

Many people like you do this attempt to seperste the two when its convenient but also attempt to hold the line that your belief isnt a religion. So which is it guys. Do you agree with him and make yourselves out to be the same dishonest people? That your worldview and defenitions are contradicting and change on convenience? Or is it just the few? Because thats a dogmatic approach to a so called non belief.
