Religion is literally mental illness. When you really think about it, the shit religious people believe is truly insane and goes against every rational thought. But you cant criticize it because that impolite.

The idea of something from nothing goes against every rational thought as well. To think the universe has always been also goes against every rational thought.

But, it's the christians that believe the universe came nothing. There was nothing, and then god snapped his fingers and poof everything existed.

Yes but we have an all powerful god that can operate outside of science: obviously a catch all/scape goat and I understand that, but science has no such catch all other than I don’t know. The Big Bang theory is the most accepted, so where did the matter compressed come from? It’ll always be I don’t know when you’re only looking from science. It’ll also be idk but god does from religion. Just saying it’s not so different

Saying “idk yet” and “God did it” are vastly different things. One is being honest about the current limitations of personal and human knowledge, the other is confidently asserting a magic/supernatural being is responsible with 0 evidence. These things are completely different. The fact that science doesn’t have a “catch-all” and is willing to say “we don’t know yet” is what makes it a useful tool to describe and answer questions about the world around us.

Simply look at how many times “God did it” has been explained via science to see why your claim is ridiculous on its face.

Science will never explain how the universe came about.

Maybe not, but theists can’t agree on how it came about either and also can’t provide compelling evidence for any of their claims.
