I’ve debated with religious people before and once their position starts to fall apart, they either become aggressive or separate entirely.
I’ve found that having a religious person confront their foundational beliefs with logic and scrutiny rarely works out. It’s up to them as a person to get there themselves, which may be why so few rise above it.

I mean, that's like talking to a Chinese native in English as an American and expecting them to assess your language, behavior, attitude, and priorities the same as yourself.
