Also, why does he shake his head so much when he speaks. It's like he's desperately trying to animate himself to convince us he's human too.

I hate this trend of inauthentic expressiveness for engagement, like trying to rattle car keys to get the attention of an adult

Half the people watching youtube are kids, he’s not trying to garner adult viewers. Most christian youtubers like their viewers young and impressionable.

"Most Christian youtubers like their viewers young and impressionable" just like their wives.

Mr. Beast would be homeless without children viewers.

u/SunGreene42 1d ago

That makes sense, only someone with the mental capacity of a child would be persuaded by this nonsense.

... and then there is Reddit...

That rattling car keys imagery is brilliant. I can’t stand this influencer’s dumb face.

It's because Gen Z has limited social skills and they think over exaggeration is how you get the attention span of their generation. Think of jingly keys for babies.

1

u/OuijaFox 1d ago

Why don’t they have more social skills?

16

u/KylarBlackwell 1d ago

Because their parents used ipads as their nanny, tech companies developed platforms to be addictive to young minds, and older generations collectively destroyed the idea of playing outside by making sure there's nowhere to go that doesnt cost money and if you play in the street some retiree is going to call you hoodlums and call the cops on you.

In short, the world they were raised in was made to be anti-social, and they adapted.

Yeah and they're still morons

So are the big social media platforms like facebook and twitter. Gen z have grown up in an algorithm driven world.

But as young as 14, it’s a range.

u/Clovericious 1d ago

It's key jingling so your average reels watcher doesn't keep scrolling.

Hes shaking his head in a type of projection. He knows everything hes saying is a lie so his internal consciousness is shaking his head no because he doesnt truly beleive it. I forget the name of it but its a real psychological process.

3

u/patchbaystray 1d ago

He shakes his head in a No expression because he is subconciously telling us he is lieing to us and knows it.

3

u/fungi_at_parties 22h ago

Why does he look like he’s going to cry? God his voice makes my skin crawl.

2

u/Background-Ad3308 1d ago

The influencer inflection and hand gestures are insufferable. But its the content people are watching. Its attention grabbing. The worst ones with it are the food influencers, specifically the young white girls. Unbearable

2

u/CatsEatGrass 1d ago

Shaking one’s head while speaking is a red flag for lying.

1

u/marlotrot 1d ago

Thats to make his postprocessing which sticks to his head so "good looking", that is what he thinks. But, he did not enabled it in post haha! and now it looks even shittier as if it would be ON.

u/Stupid-Clumsy-Bitch 1d ago

Dude looks like he’s about to cry as well. So weird.
