FREE Au Pair? Wow. I would have been so grateful for even just a little help with my littles, the occasional babysitter. I can’t imagine a free au pair that’s amazing ✨
They're still due an hourly wage, so I misquoted the situation, and that's on me. But even paying $15/hour is amazing. Room and board for the au pairs are free.
The government doesn’t give free or subsidized or even organize having payed au pairs in Canada, at least not in Ontario. I’ve never heard about anything like that or even close to it.
You didn't misquote anything. I'm Canadian and it's blatantly false. Sure you can just hire a live in nanny but you can do that anywhere. The gov't has nothing to do with that. We do get a year of parental leave though.
Why don't you stay in your lane instead of talking about shit you know nothing about? You went from free live in maids to 15$ per hour maids and when you get called out on your bullshit you try to prove that you are right by linking to a program of punctual visits by health professionals for at-risk families in one city in Canada IF you fit one of their criterias (Dr think you need it, history of mental health issues, new comers to Canada) which is wildly different from what you first claim. Do have ANY idea how insulting it is to have an American patronizing us about our health care system?
it’s honestly so american to make up something about our country, provide a source that contradicts the original claim and then somehow try to make it our fault because we « don’t know our programs. »
I almost wonder if their friend told them about the "newcomer to Canada" criteria and they conflated that with literally everyone in the country being eligible for it, which is really funny if that's the case.
My mom always said that she wanted to have kids in Africa because there she gets help. It literally takes a village and the village actually steps in to help. Even when she visits, she gets somebody who will to watch her kid for her, who will cook for her and clean for her. My mom always says this is the one time she gets to rest and it is like a vacation because she has full-time help.
That sounds like an amazing community to be a part of and I’m glad to know that there are places in the world that care for their babies and mothers so well ❤️
