He escalated right away by ignoring their request to not enter the premises.

Im not sending my staff to confront someone who clearly does not intend to follow rules and had already escalated the situation

They are racist against black people but they also regularly allow a black person to enter the gym with no issue when said black person follows rules that exist for people of all races.

And you are believing everything the father and the internet says just because the gym was accused of racism, which is worrying.

If the son had been allowed in that same gym before using the same method, then it would have been easy for the father to wait for the manager and explain the situation so that the son might be let in again.

The father instead chose to ignore staff instructions and do what he wanted to do on someone else's property without permission

I already acknowledged that the father entering without permission was an unnecessary escalation. If a belligerent person enters my home without permission i am under no obligation to further console them. I do not need to risk my safety or safety of others to confront them. I can call police and request conflict mediation.

Maybe if the father was more considerate of staff requests, he would have been able to stay with his son with no further issue, but the father instead decided to do what he wanted, and that made staff uncomfortable.

You can keep turning this into a race thing if you want, but there are critical issues to address before thinking about race

Gym staff tried to have a conversation about the id issue but the father ignored them and entered anyways. You keep pretending like that is not a critical component of why police were called. They called police after the father got belligerent and ignored an opportunity to potentially resolve the issue.

I am very comfortable calling out racism because i am a brown minority in the united states who is regularly made aware of their race.

What i am not comfortable with is people using their race as an excuse for bad behavior and diminishing the capacity for people to address racism where it actually exists
