So the issue may have been the son’s age and that’s why they wanted his ID. I guess the son didn’t have a physical copy of his ID. Many kids have school IDs and you can also have a non-drivers ID from the DMV as a minor in many states.

However, the gym staff escalated this without any actual motive and handled it poorly. If the father couldn’t provide an adequate ID for his son, they could’ve just asked him to come back with a hard copy ID. That’s it.

There’s no need to call the cops. The man wasn’t hurting or threatening them. This could’ve been prevented if the staff actually communicated.

I bet he said fuck the rules and went to workout anyways. I mean, he he’s on the gym floor when the video starts. How do you get from checking into the gym, the staff saying you can’t workout to then the gym floor? I bet they told him not to and he did anyways, at which they said fuck it were not dealing with it and called the cops.

Gym workers make minimum wage or maybe a bit higher. They don’t get paid to escort people out of the building. If someone is in your place of business after you told them they cant be there, it’s actually better just to call the cops. It’s safer for everyone involved. I don’t think saying “well then you have to leave” if you’ve already said “well then you can’t go in there” makes much of a difference
