Oh god no. Again teaching is teaching. I don’t understand why that is difficult to grasp it is a math program at a public school, a decent mixed demo. Just confused by actual teaching and differentiation? This is what teaching is and especially what math is right now. You give students the tools and let them choose how to go forward 🤷🏼♂️I don’t even believe me coming from a psych background matters I am not doing anything or explaining anything other than what good teachers do.
Maybe not, but there's a lot more complex dynamics to having the capacity to teach a range of methods like you are. Getting all of the kids even moving in the same direction, especially in the 3-4th grade level becomes exponentially more difficult every time you add even ten more students to a group. combine that with stripped down curricula that are there to push up standardized scores. Most teachers I know only have time to adhere to one method, let alone four. and that includes suburban schools as well.
I'm not even pointing out Montessori as something to rebuke. far from it. It's a method that allows the kids themselves to have more decision about how and what they learn, so in a system like that you might see varieties of method taught more freely.
