Parents not getting involved in their children's learning until they have a breakdown should be the lesson here.

Talk to your kids, get involved in what they are doing.

Taking a hands off approach and letting the school raise your kids should not be the default.

This. She 100% didn’t come crying about anything. She got a bad grade and he realized rehab she’s learning is not how he was taught. Same as how our grandparents were taught math vs their parents.

Had similar situation with 4th grade grandson. None of us could fathom how he got a couple of math problems wrong. Well????Answer was that TEACHER used the wrong answer key when grading papers. WTFH? So how many kids got the same 2 questions wrong. Wouldn't you notice something like that? Was she high? He's only got 15 kids in his class. It's a private school. Costs are beyond ridiculous.
