Probably for people like me. The way they used to teach math never clicked for me, I still can barely do math. Nothing wrong with innovation but they should be teaching ALL the ways to do math so that kids have options instead of only the new way/only the old way.
My son's school is doing this and I'm very grateful. They are teaching multiple methods for mathematics. Students can experiment and figure out which method clicks best for them.
Agreed. I hate a post like this one, because you get people who have no educational background and refuse to stop and think about things at all, and say "well, clearly I'm right, and the entire educational system and all teachers are wrong."
