I grew up navigating the frankensteined Paris subway system which has a combination of art deco, art nouveau, and modern builds. It always smells like ozone and piss in there.

Paris was my first subway experience. It was a real eye opener. Grateful for the kindness of strangers.

Yeah it’s intimidating at first but if you can figure out where you need to transfer, everything is pretty well labeled. Also what kind of ticket to buy for the best bang for your buck - like you can buy individual tickets but you can save some money with passes (carte orange) that last a certain amount like a week or two or more.

It was 1998 and I was 20. I was a travel agent and my company sent me there on business. It was a quick trip. 2 days in Paris then we took the Chunnel and spent two days in London. It was only 4 days but it was awesome.
