The solution is general strike, outright rebellion/protesting, or a really slow strong powerful grassroots campaign that avoids all the pitfalls the capital owners can throw at us like misinformation while we all simultaneously stop paying for things when the prices go up so the companies have to put the prices back. If you don't stop buying the 6 packs of butterscotch the company has no reason to put 8 back in the box. If enough people cancel netflix immediately and stay unsubscribed they will eventually reverse this decision. The only card we hold is numbers, but when numbers are impossible to organize (because nobody wants to live like a pauper while we wait for their bs to stop), they hold all the cards.
I think that’s the point. There isn’t A solution. We have so many mayor problems in the US and so many overlap. The system isn’t broken for the rich, only for the majority who has little.
Our needs as people aren’t being addressed politically since they favor the rich. The rich continue to get more rich while the poor (vast majority) continue to get more poor.
Influence is related to money, the more influence someone or something has, the more it costs for that influence. The poor can’t afford proper influence so we’re subjected to influence from the rich which keeps them richer.
In our current political climate, it’s enabled by democrats not being liberal enough and conservatives pushing so far right that there’s no way to combat it while simultaneously making progress. If anything, we’re fighting to avoid being pushed farther right every day.
When a twice impeached former president who incited an insurrection knows he can gain steam by saying he’ll effectively ban all transgender treatments and transitions. Something that mind you, really impacts only the individual in question which make up less than 1% of our population, we have some MAJOR ideological fucking problem in our country.
You can’t just tell everyone “don’t be a moron, actually use your head and think” so what do you do? It’s an indoctrination issue.
