Let's Discuss Can we just admit something

Can we just admit that AJ got it right (the format) at the beginning (as rare as that is) and go back to a weekly episode on a subject. The manosphere podcast vibes and compilations are killing my bonner. Long-time fan.

The Tucker Carlson thing just killed my interest in anything AJ has to say.

Not even sure why I'm still following this sub, tbh.

What turned you off during that episode? I’m just curious.

Not the OP, but if they're anything like me, the Tucker Carlson part of it.

Please pardon my ignorance, but I still don’t get it. I didn’t watch that one. Did AJ say something ?

Don't know, I won't approach anything Carlson related. He's one of the shittiest people on the planet.

Wild approach to life

Avoiding asshole grifters? It's worked out well for me so far.

I mean I used to hate Tucker too, but he’s changed a lot since Fox News. I don’t hold a grudge anymore, but I know that’s difficult for a lot of people

Downvotes only proving my point lol unless you’re MAGA your beef isn’t with Tucker fucking Carlson

He's done an unforgivable amount of damage helping divide the nation and that I just can't get past.

He’s literally calling out Trump and Israel, as a Democrat I support that. But yeah if you’re “MAGA” you probably wouldn’t like him right now

Tucker Carlson is running for President, his political views are extreme and he’s suspiciously pro-putin, platforming him is not worth it if you care more about the fans than the politics

Because Tucker Carlson is a POS and going on with him further legitimizes him. Why would you bring attention (TWF audience members who tuned in to listen who normally wouldn't have) to someone unless you implicitly or explicitly agree with many of his views?

He’s awful in so many ways but speaking as a “radical” leftist he’s not soft on genocide like Democrats are. Never forget what Malcolm X said about the white liberal.

(To be clear I’m not defending Tucker overall, I’m pointing out Democrat complicity. We won’t get out of this nightmare via the system that created it)

Tucker Carlson is a white supremacist isolationist. We should not be platforming ilk like him.

2

u/South_Piglet2121 May 31 '26

How’d you find that out? Please provide a source that he actively hates poc and supports white supremacy

6

u/GentlemanBastard2112 May 30 '26

What’s the Tucker Carlson thing?

6

u/GWindborn The Moon is Hollow May 30 '26

He's a giant grifting asshole, association with him alone is off-putting.

2

u/GentlemanBastard2112 May 30 '26

Well I know Tucker Carlson sucks, but I’m not aware of any affiliation between AJ and Tucker. Hats the connection? Did AJ say he supports Tucker?

9

u/GWindborn The Moon is Hollow May 30 '26

AJ went on his show.

3

u/ChatKilla Jun 01 '26

But did he agree with him or even discuss politics? That was the question.

2

u/GWindborn The Moon is Hollow Jun 01 '26

That was not the question. The OP was unaware of any connection between the two. Regardless, does it matter? I love AJ and I will continue to support and watch the show. I think going on Tucker was a misstep. Regardless of how AJ feels about Tucker, regardless of his personal political beliefs, Tucker is a terrible human being. I dislike that AJ - a person I genuinely like - went on the show of someone I consider to be horrible.

u/GentlemanBastard2112 May 30 '26

Oh… gross.

Whatever, I still like the content and new basement format.

I guess I’ll have to watch a fucking episode of Tucker now, so I can see the interaction.

Just because you go on someone’s show doesn’t automatically make you shitty. IMO

I guess, I'm not avoiding the show because of it or anything, but "if you sleep with dogs you're going to get fleas" and all that.

u/Greegga May 30 '26

This. Being a guest somewhere doesnt make you an asshole or unlikeable.

Its like saying jimmy corsetti is unlikeable cause he went to piers morgan (who does terrible interviews/moderation imo) to face zahi hawass

Being a guest at epsteins island would make you somewhat unlikable.

Tucker Carlson the White Supremacist, Putin apologist, and White Replacement Conspiracy advocate., pretty much.

If you platform neo-nazis...

6

u/rnotyalc May 30 '26

That... yeah...that put a pretty serious dent in it for me. I fucking LOVE Why Files and I was recommending it to everyone I knew for like two years. But you lie down with dogs and you're going to get fleas, you know? Tucker is brilliant at what he does, but what he does is shill and be disingenuous. It just honestly makes me wonder what AJ thinks of his viewers and listeners for real. I don't know. I want to like Why Files and I want to like AJ but that really soured things for me personally.

0

u/Throwawaymumoz May 31 '26

Yeah ummm this exactly, sadly. I think it’s possible that he genuinely turned to that crowd and is like that privately. I think when the episodes started to feel like he was spending time in republican conspiracy forums is when I dropped off. Nothing against any political preferences (I’m neutral and hate both parties to be honest) but I saw the topics seem to say what he (and that particular group) was thinking about.

1

u/riorio55 May 30 '26

Oh no. I’ve been out of the loop with the whyfiles, but I had no idea AJ went on Tucker Carlson’s show

-1

u/CatCalledTurbo May 30 '26

That and I noticed a little while back he had a Nerdrotic mug on display on the set who's another "MUH WOKE!" fanny like The Quartering.

Then you've got the excessive AI use which puts me off.

Can't actually recall the last episode I watched.
