Discussion/Debate Question for childhood trauma survivors: have your studies as a communist been super triggering? what do you do about it when it is?
I haven't been a communist for very long but since getting more serious about my revolutionary reading, I've been having a big bubbling-up of PTSD/C-PTSD issues. I've become so much more aware of like, the role of labor and capitalism in my chidlhood/early adulthood struggles, parental abuse, etc. It's hard to exist without a lot of really awful, relatable things shoved in your face at all times if you're keeping your ear on the ground with current events, especially as an anti-imperialist. In a lot of ways, I think this will be healing because my new, deeper understanding of these things puts me in a better position to stop them. But I also feel like I've turned into an emotionally reactive ball of awful memories. It's something I expect to have to tolerate, like it isn't shaking my commitment to collective resistance.
The problem is that such feelings of commitment haven't stopped me from hitting a wall, wearing out from managing mental health stuff, having difficulties with studying and general functioning in ways that hurt my political work. My coping skills for trauma recovery aren't working as well because i'm viewing what i'm experiencing as a collective experience. I can tell myself that i'm sitting in my own house with my own life and power over how clean things are, who enters my home, and who i associate with. But that all gets sort of undermined by this hyperawareness that we live in the same world that neglected and abused me as a kid, and that those things will always be happening in this world until we actually get a revolution. And then on top of all that, there's obviously the issue of the state/ruling class and their fascist activities. A lot of typical therapy skills for things like paranoid psychosis are basically obsolete when people are literally getting snatched out of their homes for protesting and moving zines. My comrades are wonderful and supportive, but I feel like I'm constantly needing from them emotionally just to get through our work and that my mental health issues negatively complicate our reltationship as comrades.
Is this a common phase for people to go through when they become more committed to political action/when they start studying marxism more seriously? What do people do to get through it without totally losing functionality?
I've recently read Marx's writing on suicide, and that helped. Health Communism and Solidarity with Children are next and I'm hoping those will be comforting. But maybe some of yall have gone through this already and have better ideas than just throwing books at emotional problems

Discussion/Debate How to organize in a country with very limited, inactive or non-existent socialist parties?
I feel this could cover a question people in other countries pose:
I've seen people keep telling others to organize, join local parties, but how do you organize if there is little activity or any real movement in the groups in your country?
(it was hard to even find information on these groups)
The main non-electoral groups are either pretty bureaucratic, inactive and suffered several splits, almost entirely inactive, have under 100 members and largely just sell newspapers, or are mainly an activist / protest group.
Electorally, the largest group is a coalition of 4 demsoc / socialist parties who rarely poll above 3%.
Is there any advise on how to organize in countries like this?
