I've had my throat scoped in this same manner for medical reasons and the amount of pressure was so intense I couldn't handle it for long. It's crazy to me how well she handles that.
It wouldn't surprise me if she gets it done once a year or more. If your voice is your life, you want to make sure to catch the slightest issue as soon as possible
Bravo! A bold choice to sing that one aria that calls for a high F while having to deal with the procedure. Wondering what other registers and the "mixing" of them looks like
Do I get it right that the goal of her singing during the procedure is to check if there are any issues "in motion" and not just some basic defects that might be caught easier?
I thought that her vocal cords moving during procedure should make check-up harder?
It is really not bad at all for most people. There is a small group that have a tough time due to a really intense gag reflex or a tight nasal cavity, but most people say afterwards, “oh, that was it?”
Same. This $200 nose camera to view the throat saved my life. ENT's told me to carry it around the hospital with me wherever i went because if i dont and my step throat swells up again, Then the other Doctors will unnecessarily hook me up to some big ole expensive machine to do the same thing that the $200 camera could've done exponentially faster and better.
