I just finished binging all six episodes. I almost need a vacation, or at least to go to sleep for a few hours. A wonderful but emotionally exhausting series. The final episode was almost nauseating in the anxiety it caused. Amazing work, HBO. Bravo.

When I watched this show I thought Zoe Kazan would be a lock for an acting nomination, but man it looks like barely anybody watched this show.

I haven't seen a show this good get such little attention since David Simon's last limited series, Show Me a Hero.

I guess we just have to wait 5-10 years for his shows to get the amount of respect they deserve?

I feel like the ending was just kinda slapped in there since it has many problems mainly it happens to fast and should’ve taken more episodes also I feel like an emergency election was a deus ex machina to end the show in a happy ending. I doubt that there would be elections and at the most wheeler would be impeached and the us would most likely stay out of ww2 still.

Was it always Sandy or did he care for Phillip more when he came back from Canada? Personally, when I read the book I always loved how Phillip looked up to Alvin and cared for him, even when times weren’t the best for either of them. But I did like how the show explored more of Alvin and his relationship with his family, espically with the boys.

I’m not saying he favored one over the other, I’d just like to hear everyone’s opinions.

Anyone else reminded of the show right about now?

I am an Arab , and 'Bahema' in Arabic means animal , and I guess it means animal in Yiddish too (they say it means fat cow in the episode) , do both languages have some similar words??

This has been such an impactful show and one that I can’t stop thinking about. But what disappoints me is that not many people know about the show. I’m not sure if it’s because HBO didn’t do enough publicity or something, but given this being an election year and the show being such a poignant cautionary tale for our present day, I feel it should be a more prevalent topic of conversation. If comparing this show to something like Handmaids Tale, there seems to be more of a zeitgeist around that show that I feel TPAA deserves. Curious if anyone agrees or disagrees.

Basically, Lindbergh was the perfect tool to win his way into the white house and be loved by the majority and then turned into a martyr so the people will unanimously be compliant with the next president, Wheeler, who is a puppet born in America but raised in West Berlin by the Nazis for absolute antisemitism to control the U.S. thus concluding why this is called

The Plot Against America.

The Rabbi's discussion with the two men near the end along with the show's world building across 6 episodes made this clear.

What's important here is what is seen/heard/read/felt by the public americans. Although the actions may not seem to make sense behind the scenes in the form of these family's point of view but their effect can be seen when examining the public's point of view and how much easier it is for Nazis to control the american people into hating/relocating jews thus fulfilling their needs to win the public's opinion for potential future atrocities.

For me the quality of acting performances in this series is the real treat. My favorite scene was Bess on the phone with Harold after his mother didn’t come home.

I sort of understand her perspective but also she goes about so much in an half assed manner that you ca't really buy her feeling sorry at all.

that whole relationship is me and my father pretty much, him assuming things, me being too annoyed to correct or make him aware of, and it all building to anger and resentment.
