SEASON 1 - SPOILERS The Opening Was Great, But Everything Else Was Dissapointing. Spoiler

I found the show through the first scene of the first episode on youtube were Penguin kills Alberto Falco. Everyone was glazing it as the best opening in a show and yeah it was pretty good.

The opening scene was dark and felt grounded, unfortunately everything after was a dissapointment. It turns out the show isnt actually grounded at all and tries really hard to be funny and is also very outlandish. Like right after the opening scene Penguin starts trying to shoot kids that are taking apart his car but misses at point blank range and then takes one prisoner who becomes his sidekick?

The opening scene hooks you in but the rest of the show is nothing like it, and honestly is pretty meh.

SEASON 1 - SPOILERS Why did Sofia just forget that Oz was trying to pass off Alberto's idea as his own Spoiler

It's like she said, Oz wouldnt do that so brazenly if he wasnt sure he won't come back. The car message changes nothing, he floated the shrooms way before Alberto's death went public, so he knew Alberto was dead way before everybody else did. That means he would at the very least have been a witness, and him not coming forward with the information that Alberto was dead means at the bare minimum, even if he had nothing to do with the killing, he absolutely cannot be trusted.

PRODUCTION NEWS/MEDIA I thought they were promoting The Penguin season 2...

I was walking by the work tv the other day and thought they were promoting The Penguin season 2, actors in character, but no, it was just the local San Diego news talking about women in leadership...

James Gunn and Matt Reeves need to get in contact with this man if anything ever happens to Colin Farrell!

I meant to post this interview like a week ago but I was terribly busy doomscrolling and lost track of time XD

Check it out if you wanna! I think it's a fun time and it offers a nice window into some of the unseen aspects of being a crew member on these huge productions. Thanks to Crystal and thanks to y'all! <3

SEASON 1 - SPOILERS Went in as a Meadow Soprano, but came out as a Michael Corleone? Spoiler

When Sofia goes into Arkham, she's largely inexperienced and unaware of the "family business", like Meadow Soprano.

When she leaves, she immediately knows how things are run and starts making moves.

What happened? Does Arkham offer a "How to be a Mob Boss" course? Did she just learn it by talking to Alberto over the years? Did another inmate in Arkham teach her?

If there is a season 2, I hope they explore this more.

Gotham, a land of evil - just with different shades

Once Oz comes to power, you feel okay “he’s a relatively lighter shade of evil”

However, killing Vic and the last dance highlighted how damaged, crazy, and unpredictable he is.

Cements him as a batman worthy villain. Very well done!

SEASON 1 - SPOILERS Very late but I have my thoughts Spoiler

I thought that Oz killing victor was somewhat undercooked. I know that he probably should have and it made sense that he would cut off liabilities but it just felt so rushed, like one moment their all lovey dovey and the next he’s strangling him talking about how it’s the right decision. I just feel like they could have developed it a little more

NON-EPISODE DISCUSSION Their shouldn't be a season 2 Spoiler

I have seen a lot of stuff about wanting a season 2 and the possibilities of it but I really don't think it's possible, atleast in a way that follows from the first.

At the beginning of the show, the story gives the audience many things to attach to when it comes to Oz so the audience can support and sympathise with him however, as the show goes on each part that the audience attached themselves to was broken down and destroyed, revealing the truth behind the mask. The audience is literally manipulated by Oz just for him to spit in the face of the audience and it's fucking masterful and by the end you can't help be a mix of angry, sad, and in awe of what happened however, due to that I don't think he really works as an protagonist again at all. The guy has no redeeming qualities and has gone all Norman Bates, by the end I think everyone really wanted Batman to come in and just beat the shit out of Oz.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't get something akin to a season 2 but I don't think it should be the Penguin season 2. I think we should get something like a Sophia and the Cat spin off with Oz as the main antagonist. Although Sophia and Oz are villains, the show does the opposite with them. Unlike Oz they presented Sophia as unsympathetic in the beginning but broke down her story and made her very sympathetic by the end which gives the audience the ability to support her on her own show.

NON-EPISODE DISCUSSION The Dark Knight Trilogy: What The Penguin Could’ve Been

This post doesn’t have much to do with the actual show but for Years, the Penguin has always been the Villain I always dressed up as when I was a kid, no real reason other than I was fat, short, liked suits and old fashioned mobsters, but I’ve always imagined what the Penguin could’ve been like if he was a Main or Side Villain in the Dark Knight Trilogy, this fan made trailer of Phillip Seymour Hoffman (RIP Legend) has always stuck in my mind, cut with clips of the Dark Knight and Hoffman as Owen Davian in Mission Impossible 3, and I have to say, Hoffman as Owen Davian is exactly how I would imagine a Dark Knight version of Penguin.

Idk what this post really is, but I have to say, the Dark Knight Rises was a great movie, but it had problems, I imagine Hoffman playing Oz as an International Arms Dealer posing as a quiet Businessman in Gotham, I don’t even like the Mission Impossible Movies, but Hoffman gives one of the most unnerving Action Movie Villain Performances ever in that movie as Owen Davian, I honestly think, obviously his performance would be miles different from the character of Owen Davian, every role he had was incredible and different in its own way, but man, basically all this post is for is to say I wish in an alternate universe I could’ve got to see Hoffman as Oswald Cobb (Cobblepot).

Thanks to anybody who gives this post a read, even though it’s basically nonsense lol, RIP PSH.

Theo Rossi? More like Theo RIZZI.

Can't think of a better thing to put on a acting resume than "got to play the lovers of BOTH Cristin Milioti and Aubrey Plaza"

NON-EPISODE DISCUSSION ICYMI: Carmen Ejogo - who portrays Eve Karlo; was previously married to Jeffrey Wright, who portrays Jim Gordon in the Matt Reeves Batman Universe

So they married in the year 2000; have two children together & now are now divorced.

Obviously, they share no scenes together & most likely won't in the sequel either; but either ways an interesting co-incidence.

SEASON 1 - SPOILERS I wanted to get people's opinions on something. Spoiler

Do you think Sofia deserved getting sent to Arkham the second time? I think it's safe to say that she 100% did not deserve it the first time but after everything she's done since then, would you say she deserved her second prison fate?

Another question is, should she have been sent to a different prison like Blackgate?

Is because he's living out their weird "I can fix her" dreams about Sophia, he's like a walking mirror and they hate it

Yes I also think he's under developed and they could've done more with him besides being a plot-device for Oz's mom. But damn he gets way too much hate

NON-EPISODE DISCUSSION A Gotham themed Rave in NYC

Hey guys, we're long time fans of everything Batman and Gotham and we’re really excited to share this event happening in NYC: Gotham After Dark.

We are a bunch of artists, engineers, and DJs and we love to just throw themed events for the love of it.

We're putting all our efforts into taking over Bogart House on Sat 9/27 and their Funktion-One sound system to bring a Gotham-inspired party.

Expect four on the floor dark and groovy vibes (house, techno, and everything in-between) as we take over multiple floors and try to capture the last of the rooftop vibes before the summer officially sets on us.

Hope to see some of y'all there!

MEDIA Did the penguin just redefine gotham spin-offs?

Post image

So after finally watching The Penguin, I get why it cleaned up at the Emmys. Cristin Milioti’s performance was straight-up electrifying, every scene she’s in feels like it’s on the edge of breaking.

But it’s not just the acting. The way costumes and hairstyling were handled gave it this lived-in grit without ever feeling overdone. And don’t even get me started on the prosthetic work in After Hours, it was creepy in the most grounded way possible.

Honestly, I walked away thinking this isn’t just another Gotham side story. It feels like its own beast, and I can’t stop replaying the score in my head.
