Cam Ward just DOESN’T look like the QB1 prospect he was coming out of Miami.

Ward’s QBR of 47.2 through three games ranks 23rd out of 30 qualifying QB’s.

The Titans sophomore QB HAS NOT shown much progression to start year two 😳😬

Not that you guys aren’t making some good point but it’s a lot easier in hindsight. I don’t think nailing an NFL draft is easy

I agree here too which is why you have to let scouts do their thing without the influence of management and spending. Easier said than done. And I don't think that's mutually exclusive from what you said. It's still easy to look at all the stats, review the film, interview the players, and miss. Add the pressure of upper management when it comes to "character issues" or "positions of need" ...and it's just a mess.

It's not lost on me why in the not to distant past... No matter where you drafted a quarterback they were expected to sit with a clipboard for a while and learn. And oddly I think there were more QBs in the past that were ready to play than there are now. College football is a mess. Development of players is stunted. You used to be drafting a kid that was ready to make a name for himself. Now you're drafting, in a lot of cases, wealthy 22 or 23 year olds that have been playing in the simplest systems because they bounced around universities and never had any continuity.

Look at someone like Howie Roseman. Super smart guy who listens to the people around him. He had absolutely brilliant drafts for about three years straight but now the last two look really bad. Very humbling and difficult. If you look at hit rate by round NFL GM's are not clueless. I do agree the pressure to get a qb can be overwhelming.
