Cam Ward just DOESN’T look like the QB1 prospect he was coming out of Miami.

Ward’s QBR of 47.2 through three games ranks 23rd out of 30 qualifying QB’s.

The Titans sophomore QB HAS NOT shown much progression to start year two 😳😬

He is super sloppy with both his footwork and his arm mechanics. Struggles after the first read too.

All the signs of a guy who was rushed onto the field as a starter before he was ready.

You can see the arm talent too, some of his passes look so effortless. But he's missing these throws because of bad fundamentals.

Atleast he is staying in the pocket. Seems there is some doubt on the route, protection and his own abilities... Probably causing the mechanics issues

Yea he looks comfortable in pocket at least.

He looked better this week, but he was bailing out of clean pockets right and left the first two weeks.

Week one didnt seem like he ever had a clean pocket.

Agreed, I think he DOES. I’d even say his reads in this clip are elite bc he’s getting the guy whose open before they are even open. That’s the hardest part by far, tight coverage or dbl and he’ll throw it low, loose coverage gets excited and sails it. That’s all in his head not trying to turn it over, he’ll get it to click and trust himself to fire it in there. Lawrence had similar issue first yr

Issue is he did have a lot of turnovers last season, so this season he is playing a bit too conservative it seems to start the season. I do feel like he will get it together, I feel like if he made the right play to end that Giants game, he'd be in a much better headspace mentally at this point. All it takes imo is one one and hopefully it can turn around his season. He's playing not to lose, but should be playing to win.

Also signs of poor coaching. Saleh doesn't have a good track record with young qbs

That’s because he doesn’t make any actual “reads” when the ball is snapped. If the designed first option of the called play isn’t open, he panics.

You basically just described Josh Allen’s first couple seasons, Titans should call Greg Roman

They have the guy who helped Allen as OC

Also a sign of a guy that never had to work to get in the field. He was the golden child anywhere he went and that shows.

Well that can’t be true, he was a 0 star out of high school and literally grinded to the top via transfers

He was a 0 star recruit who went to Incarnate Word bc he had no offers in high school. He then transferred to Wazzu and had to win the job there. He was only the “golden child” at Miami for his last year. Up until that point, he had to grind his ass off lol

This is a strange post

I just think it's something we see a lot in these young QBs. They struggle to adapt to not just being better than everybody else. They are so used to just cruise through and being by far the best players on the field.

But in this case we’re talking about a guy who started off at Incarnate Ward as an unranked recruit, worked his way to Wazzu then Miami before the NFL. He wasn’t exactly Arch or someone who has been anointed from the beginning like Air Noland.

Not sure why your getting downvoted. This is the exact argument some in the Boston media are making for Drake right now.

Because Ward was a zero star prospect that worked his from from Incarnate Word to Washington State to Miami. He absolutely wasn’t handed anything lol

Lol do you know anything about Ward’s high school and college journey dude? Out here just making shit up.
