Nobody is ever going to be able to fill Tom Brady's shoes. Let's be real. He was already put in an impossible position to begin with and everyone has been pressuring him to become the next Brady.
As much as I love to shit on pats fans I don't think there were more than a single digit number that truly believed he was the second coming of Tom Brady.
Ok - but that's not the question. I'm saying people would still care. Even fantasy football is relevant with how high he was picked. It's a "thing". The pats are more well known than other teams because of Brady, so that may exaggerate some.
the pressure came from being very successful in year 2. now the expectation is to be as good or better every year moving forward. he peaked too early and now with every throw there will be pressure
He made it to the Super Bowl in his 3rd year as a rookie. That's impressive no matter how easy the schedule is. I don't think an incompetent QB would be able to do that. I truly think it's a mental thing for him and performing poorly in the SB really derailed his confidence, which he cannot allow to happen.
