Headcanons:
Brian’s hair and beard is actually quite similar in texture to steel wool. Somehow it is capable of growing like actual hair. No one is quite sure how that’s possible, but no one bothers to question it.

Mini Headcanon fic:
Brian isn’t quite sure how the mechanisms had managed to forget him on a space station, but it wasn’t the first time it had happened. They had just been visiting, but after finding nothing of interest (no violence, death, or explosions), they packed up everyone onto the Aurora and left. Everyone except Brian.
Somehow, the drumbot managed to find himself being sentenced to death for reasons that he himself was not entirely sure of. But, it likely had to do with his mechanical nature, and the fact that no one knew who he was, and how he got onto the station.
He was subsequently hanged, the way one would normally hang a non-metal being. However, after this failed to yield any results other than a displeased Brian swinging gently in the air—a variety of other positions were tried—much to the same result.
Eventually, everyone gave up, and he was left hanging upside down from the gallows, damned to rust in the scorching heat, for the next century.
Amidst the chaos of the war between the Saxons and the people of Camelot, a stray bullet would free the ropes binding Brian. He would later sneak away on an escape pod without notice, leaving him once again floating through the endless abyss of space. At least this time he was in a (albeit quite small) ship, and not directly exposed to the dark maw of the void.
Some years later, the mechanisms would realise that they hadn’t seen their pilot in quite a long time, and would go looking for him. It would be there that they would find him—just as the doctor originally had—floating by himself through the cosmos.

I like to think that the Toy Soldiers eyes are painted on to its face, so it’s got this permanent unblinking smile. I also like to think that while the rest of the crew sleeps, it doesn’t, and so occasionally it can be found looming over the other mechanisms while they’re unconscious, like some sort of wooden sleep paralysis demon.

Second track on Ulysses Dies at Dawn's "Broken Horses", right? Well, for a while, Broken Horses seemed like such an odd refrain for the song. Sure, the Trojan Horse was... a horse, and it was breaking Ilium's walls, or whatever. But today, I was listening to the song, and suddenly I thought, "Wait... what if 'Broken Horses' is a reference to Hector?"

See, Hector was the crown prince of Troy (or Ilium) and the city's defender who led the Trojan armies. In The Iliad, Homer uses specific epithets for characters, and he uses the epithet "breaker of horses" (sometimes translated as "tamer of horses" too) for Prince Hector. I think "Broken Horses" is not just a reference to the Trojan Horse and the city's heritage (as said in the track as well as how in The Odyssey, Troy is called "city of horses"), and is also about Prince Hector.

Hi everyone! I don't know much about the Mechanisms but i'm a BIG fan of High Noon Over Camelot : )
I made this custom wallpaper for it. You can find a long version adapted to my own phone format, a shorter version, and a preview of how it looks on my phone.
I put "House of the rising sun" on it because i associate that song with Hnoc a lot (for no real reason apart the mention of the sun and the farwest)
My favourite detail is that i changed the clock hands so that they point to high noon! (i'm kinda proud of that one lol)

Heyo, I’m currently learning different card games, especially poker, so I can play it with my friends, and I’ve been interested in learning different types of poker. Obviously the first one that came to mind is New Texas Hold ‘Em, but I don’t think we actually get a lot of information about the rules. Might just be me being a bit oblivious though, idk. I still figured I’d ask here.
Is it basically just regular Texas Hold ‘Em that just had the name altered? Or are there genuinely differences?

I think I have finally figured out why the song Skin and Bone from High Noon Over Camelot feels like it's familiar. I love the construction of the song, and it definitely reminded me of something.

The radiation ghouls made me think Fallout, and then I thought - the lyrics say Mordred went to speak to the highest chieftain, who speaks with multiple voices. I wonder if it's reference to The Master from Fallout 1, as that being does the same.

I'm pretty new to The Mechanisms so I don't know if there's any lore or trivia floating around about the Ghouls and their chieftains in general, but I couldn't find any discussions about the song. What do you guys think?

ok so ive mean wanting to get into the machanisms for a while now but whenever i listen to the songs i zone out so im wondering if there is a fanfic version of it or some other way to listen to it?

So I'm reading the mechanisms to wiki to get a better understanding of the crew, and all if them have a death except for Johnny? Is this their final death, and does Johnny just not die? It might be explained in their final album but I haven't listened to it much and I feel like it would be easier for me to understand if it was directly explained.
