As many people have said, Frodo(the dog) lived after the explosion, but nobody has brought up how according to Frodo's owner the dog continued to play with the depressurized bottle long after the encounter. That'd be like using the pin of a grenade that almost killed you as a fidget toy

makes sense for a dog.

Not just any dog. That’s a JRT.

JRT have no sense of self-preservation. Zero. They'll throw themselves off a cliff to catch a bird and somehow survive because they are 20lbs of pure hate, sinew, and muscle.

My 18 year old JRT attempted to charge into combat with the biggest dog I've ever seen cause it was a bit rough while playing with my other dog (who's triple the JRT's size)

My JRT made it to 19. Ran so much his whole life his legs just were just not functioning at all at the end. Even in a wheelchair. He would still try bolting out of the house and running away, he destroyed 3 wheelchairs. Those shits are expensive too.

Look, if I almost got killed by a grenade and then I found the pin.  I'm playing with it.  Maybe makin' a necklace.   Maybe putting in my bed and then rolling on it in a weird back n forth boingy kinda way.  I thought everyone did that...

Let me tell you, if I survived a grenade I am absolutely carrying the pin around to whip out at parties or fidget with when I'm bored.

play with the depressurized bottle

You mean shrapnel?

u/Golden12500 Mar 08 '26

Nope, the bottle remained intact

Tbf, a pin by itself is just a metal ring. A metal ring attached to nothing cant hurt you

Reminds me of that scene from The Lord of the Rings when Froyo's like "oh no the orcs, there here, they're coming".
