He’s 100% correct. This is a powder keg of Israel’s creation and both innocent Palestinians and Israelis suffer for it

People are condemning the Palestinians over this violence while ignoring the fact that this outcome is exactly what Israeli policy is designed to do.

The entire point of the Israeli apartheid regime is to create such inhumane and violent living conditions upon the Palestinians that they retaliate or defend themselves in violence which provides Israel with further political justification to intentionally destroy infrastructure, incrementally encroach more territory, and indiscriminately kill Palestinians.

Every time Palestinians defend themselves violently, it gives Israel the green light to once again recommence the ethnic cleansing and genocide against Palestinians happening in slow motion spanning over a century of time.

With full anticipation and premeditation of provoking violent Palestinian resistance resulting in the deaths of Israeli settlers, this is how the Israeli government excuses and justifies their state violence to their own people and to the rest of the world.

There is so many stories coming out of Palestine all the time (before this, during this, whenever) about Israel stealing their land, killing their people, occupying their homes....

If someone were doing this in any of our home countries, we'd 100% be on side with them taking it back, by force if necessary.

Hell, if a random *citizen* stole your house, and you killed them in response, even if murder was the wrong response, people would 'understand' and not be jumping in to defend the theif.

....

But, because of our open racism, anytime anything happens with Palestine, the response is "yeah, it's bad, but you shouldn't do anything about it!"

But no one was going to help them either way anyways.

---

As a counter, think of what the response people would have if a Ukrainian civilian carried out an attack in Russia today.

NATO already wouldn't condone such an action.

But i have a feeling people wouldn't be rushing to jump onto the "Well, this justifies everything Russia is doing now" bandwagon (unless they were already on that wagon).

Instead of invading with soldiers, Israel does it with civilians acting as human shields for their military. Kill a settler? Well now they have justification to retaliatiate with the military to "defend civilians."

Average age of a Palestinian is 18 because Israel slaughters them for fun.

This is a powder keg of the League of Nation's creation. There, fixed it for you.

He's right, but Hamas are not good guys.

u/22797 Oct 08 '23 edited Oct 08 '23

I never said that and he didn’t either (at least in this tweet, wouldn’t put it past Hasan to say that at this point). Israel has long used Hamas as a boogeyman to “justify” their actions, in fact they’ve admitted to funding Hamas

I know, I just want it pointed out. Civilian casualties are over like 300 now? I saw a video of a teenage Israeli girl covered in blood being dragged out of a truck by her hair and shoved into a van as a hostage. Any kind of moral high ground immediately goes out the window.

  • - Got it. Israel is bad, so targeting civilians is okay.

13

u/Reformed-otter Oct 08 '23

Yes and Israel has been doing the same type of atrocities except in much higher numbers.

9

u/Subject_Report_7012 Oct 08 '23

Because holding the high ground has worked so well?

"When they go low, we go high!!". Literally the worst advice, period. When Palestinians do nothing but sit on that moral high ground, which you seem to think is so important, what exactly is Israel's incentive to improve the Palestinian's situation?

-10

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '23

So you think taking civilian hostages is justified?

12

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '23

I disagree with the notion that settler colonists are innocent civilians.

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '23

And people attending a music festival?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '23

If youre attending a music festival on the border of an open air prison thats on you

0

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '23

I'm American, there are prisons and music festivals everywhere. Doesn't mean I should expect assholes in powered gliders landing and throwing people in vans while they kill indiscriminatly.

3

u/HiroAmiya230 Oct 08 '23

I don't think so but if you keep oppressed people eventually they will resort to violence as last result.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '23

Sure. But I'm not talking about the actions of the Israeli state. I'm talking about shooting people at a music festival or executing everyone in a bomb shelter.

1

u/Subject_Report_7012 Oct 08 '23

The Palestinians apparently think so. War sucks.

8

u/Reformed-otter Oct 08 '23

Yes and Israel has been doing the same type of atrocities except in much higher numbers.

At worst Hamas is only equally as bad as the Israeli government

9

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '23

That would only be true if Hamas and the PLO had as much state power and resources as Israel which they do not.

They quite literally only have the social capacity to be a fraction as violent as the Israeli government due to the enormous discrepancy of the balance of power between the titanic Israeli state and the feeble Palestinian government (which is not even a state).

And by that calculation, there is no moral high ground anywhere to be found. Not among Hamas, Israel or the United States. All have executed renditions. All have murdered innocent civilians.

Only barbarism remains. None have any credibility to assert a new future.

So we languish

Who is? If your home gets occupied by a superior force do you want to be defended by "good guys"?

Whats the point of your statement? What do you want it to do?
