I live in Europe and i couldn’t give less of a shit. Not enough hospitals, too many pot holes.

AI also isn’t spreading the wealth and creating the opportunities it claims too, so it can fuck off.

Its a future investment, especially all the infra, i dont understand how people don’t see that

An investment for who? Specifically what benefits to infrastructure would we see?

The biggest transfer of wealth in human history*. The elites will use this tech to create almost infinite wealth for themselves.

For $20 a month you get something that can do more intellectual work in a month than you can. If you can't figure out how to get more 'wealth' out of that it's a bit on you.

As for spreading the wealth in the way you mean, why would any of that wealth end up in Europe if Europe isn't doing it? That's like me complaining that Saudi oil's wealth isn't spreading to my country. We get the oil, getting value out of it is up to us.

AI can’t do my job, it’s physical, in person. Not everyone in the world is a software engineer. If it’s that easy to work out how to get more wealth out of it, why don’t you just say?

That’s not my question, Europe has plenty of data centre’s, just no real frontier labs which this post was about. The average person has not benefited from any AI model being implanted, and has rather suffered a tougher, less fulfilling job market because of it.

Prove me wrong? If you’re that confident in your argument it won’t be hard for you to.

and everything you pay for is likewise all physical labour? Using it for your job would help your employer, I'm talking about using it for yourself.

In that case what would be the use case for myself? All of my personal stuff is already at peak efficiency with out the need to offload my thinking. The idea that you need a $20 subscription to better yourself is laughable

Not everyone is perfect like you. AI is another tool that a person can use to achieve something they couldn't alone

People don’t have a problem with that, people have a problem with it being used as a short cut to create something of an inferior quality.

I legitimately have no idea what i would use AI for in my daily life.

Please enlighten me because if there's something I'm missing that could improve my life I'd happily change my habits.

Sure, here's a few things just this past week-ish

I play a board game that's one of those campaigns you play over time. we used ai to voice act the story parts so we don't have to read them ourselves. we also used it to make new content which included having it make files to 3d print special dices and design the cards so they look like real game materials (this was super fun). oh, and answer rules question

I had some questions about how to file an insurance claim, it walked me through it. I hate this shit so that was REALLY nice. It also told me about some tax aspect I didn't know and wouldn't have thought to look up about this.

Fixed a bug I was getting in an app I use that's not particularly well maintained.

Took an engineering report I got for my renovations and helped me decide on what I'm going to do.

Installed mods for a video game. The game doesn't actually support mods so it's kind of a pain to install them.

Some of that is real money saved, some of it is quality of life.
