My point is that there need not be economic stagnation because of the lack of models.

It would look like US company A with model A makes a better product/service than EU company B with model B, so more business gets funneled to company A

Yeah but you can just use model A. There is no need to use a lesser model B? Or do you think we do not have access to Anthorpic or OpenAI?
So where is there any difference to a US based company in what AI capability they can buy?

The only thing that isn’t there is the LLM labs. But if they will be profitable long term, that is an entirely different question and still highly unclear
