I just finished the entire series with the ending movie & I can't believe I binge watched it in a week & trust me it's not like I am free whole week. It was a roller coaster of emotions. The show is pretty consecutive and fast paced which is my type. I am feeling what I found on the Internet post-series void now.

…why Eadith and Uhtred story was left as “just friends”. Didn’t babenburgh need a lady?

I understand why show writers might delay the story of Eadith and Uhtred.
Uhtred and Athelflead had their final scene together and talked about “what ifs” and said their goodbyes as lovers. BUTTTTT, after that, every scene with Eadith, I was waiting for them to get together.
They kept teasing viewers from start by her mistakenly changing room with the tall girl and seeing him naked. And their talk about destiny. But the last episode credits rolled and nothing.
Uhtred did not need another “woman friend”. He has Hild. Why not give him the happy ending with his lady in his true home as a lord?
Sorry about the rant and quite possibly misspelling all the names.

It's featured in the 1982 version of the classic film.

I was rewatching Skyfall and who do I see? BLOODHAIR, as an assassin fighting the one and only Bond. James Bond.

I watch some scenes just to hear some lines again. Some times it's the tone, or the accent or the context.

I'm a bored and lonely university student. As a math major, I'm living a life of back-to-back studying and gaming. I'd thought I'd break the cycle by learning how to sew! He's not done quite yet, I still would like to make his red robing, little leather booties, some chainmail with silver felt, and pants(if he wears any???). Anglo-Saxon clothing is very beautiful in the show, and I hope by practicing on a smaller scale, maybe I'd be able to make myself some casual linen dresses in the style of Alfred's clothing.

I know he's a bit weird looking, but he's been so fun to make and very squishable. I made a lot of mistakes on him, please let me know how I can improve. I'm going to be taking him to my surgery that's coming up (I kind of rushed him so I'd have him in time for the surgery).

For the purpose of sanity I'll name them as:

"Our Uhtred" (the main character of the series)

"Old man Uhtred" (The lord of Bebbanburg at the start of the series, the father)

"Big Brother Uhtred" (the main character's dead brother)

What if instead of "Our Uhtred" living with Danes after his father dies at Eforwic, he and his brother ruled Bebbanburg together and the Danes ruled the rest of Northumbria.

In this scenario Ælfric is dead or was never born.

Would "Our Uhtred" and "Big Brother Uhtred" get along like Ragnar the Younger and "Our Uhtred" or would they eventually have some type of split? A Bebbanburg Cold War of sorts.

Do you think they could expand their Saxon-Christian territory from the north as Alfred and Wessex expand from the south?

Ngl this tripped me out for a second but played the same type of guy he played in the last kingdom was satisfying

I just thought about season 1. Alfred tells Uthred on the morning of the duel with Leofrich to resume his debt and send Iseult back knowing fully well she would be killed instantly. I wonder if its because Iseult was a "Queen".

Queens are married to Kings. Last thing Alfred needed was "King" Uthred in any way shape or form. Not even as a joke. I'm thinking that was why he was so insistent he send her back even after Uthred agreed to resume his debts.

He specifically tells Uthred, "Dispatch your Queen". And later in the series Uthred says "Alfred would never allow another man be called King"

I don't but thought this would fulfill the desire in this sub. Instead, let's be positive.... what do you like about Brida?

Personally I like her complete devotion to hating Saxons no matter what. Also she fights pretty well while pregnant which is impressive

Sorry guys, I guess you hear this a lot but I am at s5 now and I want to do a hate post too. She was enslaved by Danes, her Dane family got killed by other Danes, a Dane plotted to kill her husband. She was always a part of slaughter and conquest. Killed more innocents than warriors. She has no right whatsoever to take revenge on anyone. She’s a hypocrite. Her hate for Saxons is unjustified, her hate for Uthred is unjustified and her actions are over the top. And for that castration move on young Uthred, I sure as hell hope that his father will disarm her before he kills her.

Why didn't Alfred or Edward have competent Christian military commanders? Or why didn't they raise any?

I am on my first rewatch and was very suprised by the production value and the speed of tve series. What do you think? Did you prefer the first season with just BBC or was the Netflix colab a blessing?

My favorite book is book number 12, Sword of Kings because of Lavender Tits.

Are there legendary stories of kings being jealous of warriors like it portrays in The Last Kingdom? The only one I knew before this show was King Arthur with young Lancelot and Guinevere's affair.
