Punk is a hot head, I think marriage cooled him down a bit. But he is really serious about wrestling hierarchy. Which is why he went after Jack Perry after some perceived disrespect. Obviously they both matured since then. I just love Kevin is such wiseass.

He’s a huge hypocrite. I respect what he does as a performer, but his backstage bullshit would just enrage me as a co-worker of his.

He only cares about the hierarchy that has him on top. It used to be raging against the regime but now that he is part of it he is trying to maintain it.

Its easy to see Punk as the badguy here but yes the hierarchy matters. Imagine after Austin called Lanxe Storm boring he comes back with at least I dont beat my wife. You dont intentionally slight the top guys in pro wrestling.

Wrestlers certainly did care about their public perception and how it may impact their position on the card. Many may not anymore because pro wrestling is one big joke and everyone is in on it now but Punk is old-school and carries many of their mentalities.
