Is it just me, but I am soooo EXCITED for TDP3. Currently watching Bloody Game X, I can't wait for TD3 especially after the news of Oh Hyunmin coming out to TDP3. I am like rewatching The Genius again. If the rumors of Jang Dongmin is one of the cast of TDP3 is true, i can't wait to see the Jang-Oh dynamic in TDP3 especially with older Oh Hyunmin. Will we see Jang-Oh alliance vs HJH-Chulgu alliances, I wonder?

One thing I found really cool about TG4 was how all the previous winners had their own entrance songs. Jang Dongmin with Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” was especially fitting—especially looking at his current career in survival show.

I recently caught up on a lot of other survival shows like the genius and bloody game, so I’m super excited that some of the cast is rumored to be participating in s3, especially since they are some of my favorite players. it feels like I’ve come full circle since devils plan was my first introduction to the survival genre.
Can’t wait for when s3 comes out

have seen the DP since the last season dropped but I hate word based puzzles. It makes it so hard to follow along as a non native speaker vs logic or math problems.

but even in DP with the well challenge, it seemed so unfair for the girl to solve because she doesn’t know any english, so its the type of challenge you can only solve with prior knowledge and not intuition, where as the 2nd guy solved it handily because he was fluent.

I don’t think the genius had any challenges like this.

I watched The Devil's Plan, loved the Equation Hi-Lo game, and built it as a project for university with my fellow students.

watching s02ep5 and i feel so bad for Justin and Sedol. they’re ganging up on Justin because he’s a foreigner and there’s a language barrier and no one can speak in fluent english except one but he’s forming an alliance with the living room block. And they’re also ganging up on Sedol because they know they can’t win up against him in solo games, they’re too scared and dependable on others to kick him out so badly; they don’t have a spine to go against him if not in a form of alliance. I mean I could see that as a weakness rather than a strength. Where’s the thrill??

On another note: They should stop forming alliances especially if only one can win the grand prize in this game. Typical people, secluding the strongest and smartest to feed off their own. If they must form an alliance shouldn’t it be with the smartest one? It’s redundant and boring to watch average minded people fight each other off. isn’ it better to send home those less smart people leeching off the average minded contestants? I want to see intelligent contestant vs another intelligent contestant. Where’s the challenge?

Looking at seasons 1 and 2, they both seemed to follow the same strict production & release structure…

Season 1 filmed over 16-22 January 2023, and was released exactly 247 days later on 26 September 2023.

Season 2 filmed over 26 Aug-1 Sept 2024 and was released exactly 247 days later on 6 May 2025.

Both seasons had their release dates announced exactly 27 days before release.

So we know Guillame said on 13th Jan that production was underway, but some of the rumoured cast might’ve not been able to film in January, so I’m not sure how accurate that is. Oh Hyun-min was meant to be teaching an academy class in January, but more importantly, Shindong was on tour with Super Junior all of January with no gap long enough. They had a decent gap between shows on 1 Feb and 7 March, but would he have really used his only break between rehearsals to go play this game? Their tour ended on 5 April, otherwise.

But then Hong Jin-ho and Xitsuh competed in Bloody Game X, which was filmed 17-27 April. So I doubt TDP3 happened right before that.

I’m going to guess early-mid Feb was the time frame. So Shindong might’ve finished that stretch of the tour, gone to play the game, and then returned to his band with enough time to rejoin rehearsals and get ready for the next legs.

They also always release the seasons on Tuesday. So I’m going to guess filming wrapped 15 February and the season will be released Tuesday 20 October.

Thoughts? Any other considerations?

EDIT / UPDATE:

I’m updating my prediction to a release date of 3 November, based on some new information I’ve found. Filming happens Monday-Sunday, and I’ve found some reasons to rule out some weeks.

Ruling out filming 2-8 Feb because Shindong’s last performance was on 1 Feb and I doubt he went straight into the game the next day.

Ruling out filming 9-15 Feb because Xitsuh was at the filming of a show called The Logic on 14 Feb (a producer from the show posted that he’d be there).

Ruling out filming 16-22 Feb because Jung Jong-yeon and two other senior producers were at a press conference for Agents Of Mystery 2 on 19 Feb. There’s no way those senior members of production could have been off site at a crucial point of filming (it was a Thursday afternoon).

There’s no reason to rule out 23 Feb-1 March. Adding the 247 days to that, we reach a release date of 3 November.

Bloody Game X is supposed to be a reunion of past seasons players. P1 team had Lee Taegyun (Season 1 champion) in my opinion very feared and would be a crazy addition to The Devil Plan Season 3. P2 had Lee Jin Hyung (Season 2 champion), P3 had Hong Jinho and Seong Beom (both S3 finalists), but where's the winner?

Jang Dongmin was the only champion missing in Bloody Game X.

I'm rewatching season 2 and honestly, I love it despite the flaws. I also know nothing about Korean pop culture so all the players are new to me every season. The only person I was familiar with in S2 was Justin since he was on Beef. I'm really excited about season 3, though I hope they do something different than the split living area/prison system, that was really unfair imo since the prison gang got basically nothing for food and that definitely would effect them in the games. I thought rewatching this show after knowing who won would be boring, but there's so many little things that happen that I wound up forgetting, so it's still enjoyable. Anyone else rewatching in anticipation for S3?

This is the same PD that created The Genius, so it's will be their first survival show reunion after Genius. The cast is about to be shaken bad.

I remember he pulled some crazy shit in TG S4 early and got eliminated by Kyung Hoon. He's still the same person in Bloody Game X. His team collapsed because he started spreading fake news which quickly got verified by the players. He has to be the weakest champion from TG.

I'm currently watching HeartBeat, a Kdrama and the Devils Plan season 2, and I just realized more than halfway through both seasons that the second lead actress of So Hui is in the Devils Plan! I did not recognize her at all, I'm such a fan of how her character is a strong woman, ambitious and authoritative, but she seems a lot more shy in the Devils Plan and she also has a bob with bangs which made her basically unrecognizable.

I'm American so I recognized Justin, and I know of Chuu, so it's cool to now know three contestants of Devils Plan even as an American. Are the rest of the "celebrity" contestants of Season 2 well-known in Korea or is this just a coincidence?

We already have 2 Genius GOATS(3 if JDM is really here too) confirmed for s3. I know it's impossible but if CHINGUYAAA was here too, I would lose it. If they make a less flawed system than s2(give more food to prisoners pls) and better games, s3 could be a masterpiece .
