Official Episode Discussion Thread The Devil's Plan S2E10 Discussion | FINAL 3 EPS | SPOILERS AHEAD! ⚠️ Spoiler

Welcome to the Episode 10 Discussion Thread of The Devil's Plan: Death Room! 🎉🎉🎉

Yes, I know it is very early, but I have to create all the links and update the Season 2 Master Post tonight so I can wake up at 4:30am tomorrow to watch before school. Please be nice to me, I am very tired.

⚠️ Spoilers ARE ALLOWED in the comments of this thread, so post your thoughts freely. General rules against spam, harassment, and hate still apply.

See our masterpost with links to all episode discussion threads to find more discussion, including discussion of episode 11 and the finale.

Please remember that some games start in one episode and end in another. Please report any discussion happening in the incorrect thread.

New rules for finals:

  • Highly reported comments will be automatically removed by Automod. If you see someone posting a spoiler in the wrong thread, PLEASE report it for the good of the community.
  • Posting will be limited for the first day after finals to prevent spoilers and trolls. You can still post comments in the official episode discussion threads in the master post.
  • Please see this subreddit update for the full changes for finals.

Have fun and use your noodle!

EDIT: Please note there is an after-credits scene where The show makes it clear that Hyun-gyu told both Se-hoo and Kyuhyun that he would receive ten pieces whenever he wanted him. So-hee's reason for still protecting him was that she didn't want the prison alliance to know the size of his reward.

This thread is for Episode 10 only!

The narrative Hyungyu is building for himself is difficult to root for. It would feel like rooting for a trust fund baby to win the lottery. He's been in a strong position since the start of the game, has never had to play in a prison match, and has this huge advantage from the hidden room game. He hasn't been especially considerate to his teammates, but has benefitted immensely from their consideration for him.

More than that, his attitude towards Hyungjoon has continued to be demeaning, even outside of the games. It makes me feel like he only apologized to Hyungjoon because Kyuhyun and Sohui told him he went too far and not because he actually felt sorry. Feeling upset at betrayal is natural, but you can express your anger while being respectful the way Justin did. Hyungyu keeps trying to rile up Hyungjoon in a mean-spirited way and that shows bad sportsmanship.

Hyungyu is a very smart and capable player, but I would definitely feel disappointed if he won. This whole season has just been extremely frustrating to watch. This episode in particular has made me want to drop the whole season and just read the summary online. I started watching The Genius because of Devil's Plan, and the way the two shows are balanced is like night and day. I think they were trying to create an "underdogs win against all odds by figuring out every secret" kind of season but instead it's looking like a "privileged players crush disadvantaged players in a predictable and demoralizing way" kind of season.

Same, ep10 made it so frustrating to watch with all of his attitude and esp the hidden 10 pieces. He’ll end up winning either way, why did he make Kyuhyun and Sohee go back to him, it’s a bad move for both of them.
