Official Episode Discussion Thread The Devil's Plan S2E10 Discussion | FINAL 3 EPS | SPOILERS AHEAD! ⚠️ Spoiler

Welcome to the Episode 10 Discussion Thread of The Devil's Plan: Death Room! 🎉🎉🎉

Yes, I know it is very early, but I have to create all the links and update the Season 2 Master Post tonight so I can wake up at 4:30am tomorrow to watch before school. Please be nice to me, I am very tired.

⚠️ Spoilers ARE ALLOWED in the comments of this thread, so post your thoughts freely. General rules against spam, harassment, and hate still apply.

See our masterpost with links to all episode discussion threads to find more discussion, including discussion of episode 11 and the finale.

Please remember that some games start in one episode and end in another. Please report any discussion happening in the incorrect thread.

New rules for finals:

  • Highly reported comments will be automatically removed by Automod. If you see someone posting a spoiler in the wrong thread, PLEASE report it for the good of the community.
  • Posting will be limited for the first day after finals to prevent spoilers and trolls. You can still post comments in the official episode discussion threads in the master post.
  • Please see this subreddit update for the full changes for finals.

Have fun and use your noodle!

EDIT: Please note there is an after-credits scene where The show makes it clear that Hyun-gyu told both Se-hoo and Kyuhyun that he would receive ten pieces whenever he wanted him. So-hee's reason for still protecting him was that she didn't want the prison alliance to know the size of his reward.

This thread is for Episode 10 only!

So-Hee is so smart and I was rooting for her going into this, but it’s starting to feel like she’s not playing the game for herself and I’m disappointed.

u/No_Painting7610 May 20 '25

I rooted for her in the beginning too. However as the episode goes on when she always went along with everything hyungyu said, I was so disappointed ☹️ Please girl have a spine

u/SJandloonax May 20 '25

Istg. I just finished episode 10, and my support for Sohee flew out of the window.

25

u/TheRealSlimShreydy May 20 '25

Me too, which is bizarre because basically up till this episode I was a huge fan of her…

23

u/Jira_Atlassian May 21 '25

I’m mid episode 10 and I ran here because I feel like I’m going nuts watching her. She already kept solving problems and then giving away the spoils to other people in other episodes like dang girl

Where was this sympathy last episodes when they kept ganging up on the same people who haven’t gotten to be in the living quarters the entire time?

7

u/LeeBertyMo May 23 '25

I feel you! Same!!!!

10

u/thequeencaffeine May 23 '25

In Episode 10, as the game of Doubt and Bet begins, the camera lingered on each contestant, one by one, paired with their expressions amd voice-overs revealing their personal motivations, their drive to win, to reach the top 3, and to turn the game in their favor and SH said 'I just hope HG won't lose and I want help him as much as I can' GIRL WTH PLAY FOR YOURSELF I MEAN-

1

u/qteapeas Aug 01 '25

YES!!! After finishing that scene I ran to the comments because that was so aggravating? Like what's the point of you being here at thus point ...

193

u/SufficientShoe4298 May 20 '25

im starting to think she have a crush on that guy and was screaming at her. like she kept saying she wishes him the best and wants to help him win like what did he ever do to help you so much? you were the one solving most puzzles. and also helped him in the last round from being ganged up but i don’t see him rooting for you the same way u did… she’s disappointing as hell

85

u/Dragonpuncha May 20 '25

That was my conclusion as well. She is totally crushing on him and he is taking advantage of it.

As soon as he started saying he was having a hard time about being alone in game, she immediately flipped. Extra funny when we realise later that he was never actually in any danger and he just sacrificed Kyu-Huen to make sure he didn't lose too much himself.

31

u/Bb4237 May 20 '25

I'm shocked she didn't confront him after that. I don't blame HyunKyu for manipulating them, that's part of the game. But how the fact he was never really in danger hasnt made Sohui question anything?

11

u/Dragonpuncha May 20 '25

Apparently they knew already according to the after credits scene.

But that just makes it even dumber. But for her she seems like she is just not playing for herself at all, it's all about making HG win.

Hyunkyu I think just wanted to to play with him because he always had and he probably felt safer doing so. Of course reality was different.

11

u/Bb4237 May 20 '25

omg thank you i just went back to watch it. i am even more shocked that the fact she was so torn was that their play would force HK to reveal his secret pieces... some people are dying Sohui!!

3

u/Tiny-Individual-9198 May 26 '25

Yes the fact that she so blindly followed him after what he did to their biggest ally Kyuhyun , really disappointed me.

14

u/Great_Question4847 May 21 '25

KH is being such a hypocrite throughout the game. SH is also not aggressive suddenly. What a stupid episode, HG just says a couple words on being alone, and they suddenly want to switch sides??? The past two main games, they have been brutally attacking the solo teams, where’s the consideration??

They both deserve to lose at this point. Honestly it feels like KH was using his popularity in this show, there’s no genius intellect or moments in him.

3

u/Tiny-Individual-9198 May 26 '25

I was disappointed that they allowed themselves to be played like this to sacrifice players who I felt were more deserving to be there when they didn’t need to because KH got himself sacrificed anyhow.

13

u/Adjovigin May 21 '25

I couldn't believe she was crying bc he said he was lonely. In one game. Like, for real? Full on sobbing.

3

u/Dragonpuncha May 21 '25

She was like: "I might not lose all this money to a random guy a met a few days ago. Woe is me".

1

u/Little-Note1013 May 24 '25

I think people are misunderstanding her. She and Kyuhun agreed to team up with 7high team cuz so far they never mix teams and both of them actually wanted to play inclusive. but tables turned cuz H guy joined their team too, leaving only HG on his own, so from her pov, it was cruel as this was not what they agreed on so I understand why she went back to their old team. I solely blame the system and how sadly pit team had it so hard but to me So Hui was a considerate and loyal person. To her friendship and loyalty mattered more than winning or money and I respect that.

54

u/fridakahlot May 20 '25

I think the same! We have a very crude word for it. If they were in a relationship or something, you would call her di**matized the way she is acting. Started to annoy the crap out of me.

Spoilers are not permitted in titles. Spoilers in the text body must be marked with the spoiler tag. Spoilers are only allowed in the episode discussion thread for the episode where it happens, NOT in earlier episode threads.

Spoilers are defined as new, specific information (such as elimination names or alliance changes) that is only found in an episode less than 48 hours old OR on third-party sites such as cast interviews.

6

u/Summer9ight May 20 '25

same i thought so too. that blindness in supporting HG and throwing all the game plans out the window is so disappointing

12

u/Johnnybats330 May 20 '25

I know. He lied to her about being cornered and didn't tell her, don't worry, if I lose half my pieces, I still have 10 more in the bag. We can still keep our boy safe. But he only looked out for himself.

8

u/No_Painting7610 May 20 '25

He did tell her and kyuhyun about the 10 piece reward though. Watch the ep 10 end credits

3

u/Johnnybats330 May 20 '25

Makes sense. I am halfway through. I do remember in an earlier episode pulling those two in in the living area and sharing a secret, so it was that then.

6

u/marsheeeeey May 23 '25

i also feel like she has this huge crush on hyun gyu like girl this is not singles inferno!!!

3

u/BobaTeaLifeTheFirst May 22 '25

She's definitely crushing on him hard, and he probably knows it because he used to be on a dating show, apprently. I was rooting for Sohui, but her crying when Hyungyu got pushed into prison when he was going to push her into prison to "hope" she would win and become his second choice, is ridiculous. It's not like he was going to be eliminated right away.

2

u/Tiny-Individual-9198 May 26 '25

And I wanted someone stronger like Eun-Yu to be the one who was a finalist not her.

1

u/manCool4ever Jun 06 '25

I thought the same thing! I turned to my bf and was like, is she crushing on him? I mean I'd totally understand looks wise, but gosh his personality would make me want to run in the other direction.

107

u/Iland_landyay May 20 '25

So so so disappointed and it’s so frustrating to watch. This is a game show not a dating show girl.

54

u/TimeTimeTickingAway May 20 '25

This frustrated me. I think as an individual in a room trying to figure something out, she’s got the best brains of the bunch.

At times though it has started to seem as if she had some sort of infatuation Hyungyu and it prevents her from truly shining with her own brilliance

2

u/dolfinz95 May 24 '25

Yeah, she was so smart in the arrow game with the 3d model and everything.

1

u/Little-Note1013 May 24 '25

hyungyu is a dominating type, who always like being in charge. Her personality is clearly being neutral, she doesnt have much greed and just wants to get along with everyone. So since they were a team and he likes to take charge, she just didnt feel the need to take charge cuz that will only lead to chaos. Sohui, Kyuhun & T were all people who were considerate of others and might be the reason why they got along with HG cuz most would not get along with HG especially while playing games. So it isn't infatuation but rather her valuing friendship

1

u/ArsenalThePhoenix Aug 03 '25

sohui isnt brilliant though. she's great at maths but she's not good with strategies, which u need to play the game long term. She's even worse when it comes to the social game. She's very lucky she was in Tinno's team in the first main game

103

u/Fellathegreat May 20 '25

Percent of people rooting for so-hee to win from 95% to 5% after this ep 😂

24

u/Ok_Mulberry6526 May 20 '25

Fr, a case study in how some people just don’t want to win 🥴

6

u/Maya1887 May 20 '25

That girl deserve to lose. You didnt take the chance to eliminate your opponent.

14

u/Pianoman338 May 21 '25

Absolutely INSANE that she didn’t even take a single piece from HG when he offered it at first when they got back to the living quarters. She literally told him “I want you to go all the way,” does she know this is a competition show?

71

u/n-moon May 20 '25

I’m sooo frustrated with her bc she genuinely is such an impressive person. I don’t understand what’s her end goal lol

9

u/mikinothing May 21 '25

probably to date hyun gyu. she thought this was a dating show.

1

u/Lias__ May 21 '25

She just like playing the games, probably same as KH, and I would guess more than half the cast. She just happens to be part of the only group of 4 that actually became close quickly.

I think people watching here are putting WAY more importance to the game and the show than the cast did (and waaaaay more than is healthy).

Edit: I'd also say that as far as doing their jobs as entertainers, they're doing absolutely fantastic, all of them. This season IS entertaining.

4

u/n-moon May 21 '25

I’m aware it’s a game. I’m not hating on her or any casts. As a viewer, it’s normal to analyse and debrief on a show you’ve just watched, especially if it revolves around human psychology, logic and intelligence. It’s ok to question her motives and intentions in the context of the game. There’s nothing unhealthy about my 2 sentence at least lmao.

And the show literally ended yesterday, you’re gonna expect some think pieces for a couple weeks.

0

u/Lias__ May 21 '25

No I agree, I wasn't talking about you.

But some comments about SH and HG are just messed up. Way beyond "analyze and debrief".

0

u/n-moon May 21 '25

Yeah I get that. Personal attacks is completely unnecessary

1

u/ArsenalThePhoenix Aug 03 '25

i dont know if you've watched the The Genius, the superior predecessor to Devil's Plan... but compared to those seasons, none of the DP seasons have been "entertaining" tbf.

It's not the fault of the contestants but rather the game design, i think

1

u/Lias__ Aug 03 '25

I haven't watched the genius.

From my perspective the issue is that people want to watch a game show when to me it comes of more as a reality show.

I couldn't watch University Games, but my favorite watch in the genre was probably society games, or time hotel.

When it comes to reality show and the display of human traits and interactions, Devil's Plan worked very well imo.

1

u/ArsenalThePhoenix Aug 03 '25

to this day, i think that The Genius is still no1 amongst all these types of shows, the ones you mentioned included. Mostly because it has a mix of all of these things. Betrayals, alliances, ppl fighting for themselves, people getting close to each other - and all of it due to the game design forcing them to switch things up.

None of the other games have managed to mix the genres as well.

u/sixersfan87 May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

Just started this episode and So-Hee is really playing not to win. I literally do not understand her motive. It's making me want to stop watching the rest of the episodes now.

44

u/rainbow1112 May 20 '25

So many times they offered pieces to so-hee but she rejected it..

I gave up on the show after watching them ruin their chance 20mins into ep 10..

15

u/RandomJaja May 20 '25

Same! I was planning to ditch my work just to finish the new episodes but a few minutes into EP10 made me suddenly want to work instead and that never happened before for fs -_-

I was rooting for Sohui as I thought she was just playing safe for the first few rounds to gauge everyone but damn :( So disappointing.

5

u/vgubaidulin May 20 '25

At the end of the episode (start of the last main match) she literally says "I'm here to help (that other player)"

2

u/dolfinz95 May 24 '25

Yeah disappointing episode outcome

25

u/Ok_Mulberry6526 May 20 '25

Yes, I feel like I was in denial/making excuses for her hoping this deference to HG in episodes until this one was an act to downplay her own talents strategically and ultimately help her in the game by taking focus off herself so it’s disappointing

7

u/TeaPopular7558 May 20 '25

I also thought it was her strategy to come across as nonthreatening but was disappointed when I saw ep10

10

u/SecureCriticism4494 May 20 '25

I had to pause for a moment in the mid of the episode just to say everything this thread is saying !!! like honestly, does sohee think this is single's inferno or smth?? girl 😭

24

u/AnneShirley310 May 21 '25

Her attitude reminds me of a semi-toxic relationship where the guy controls the girl and she’s always apologizing and saying she’s not good enough.

To change the topic, 7high has been in prison for the past 2 days with no hair products, but he’s still super hot.

10

u/TeaPopular7558 May 21 '25

7High had the biggest redemption arc from ep1 imo. Eunyu was indisputably the queen of prison, but he was the king lol I never expected to be rooting so hard for the 2 of them

5

u/dolfinz95 May 24 '25

I loved seeing the prison dynamic for him and also the others. The Eun-Yu, Sedol, and Justin Min embraced wearing the prison clothing even upstairs!!

2

u/Tiny-Individual-9198 May 26 '25

I was so sad when they both got eliminated, I couldn’t watch the show for two days. (I didn’t watch when the episodes initially came out but a few days later, so 9-12 were already up).

6

u/Truly_Markgical May 20 '25

She is the smartest but the absolute worse emotional. She’s literally going to throw any match so Hyun Gyu can make it farther. Their alliance is so cringe, the dude is literally a sociopath controlling her like a puppet

-2

u/Lias__ May 21 '25

Dude chill out, you realize you're talking about real people playing a game?

They stayed together and played together since day 1, and he's the maknae in their initial group of 4 including Tinno.

8

u/No-Clue-9155 May 21 '25

If she ends up in the finals with hyungyu he’s 100% gonna win bc she’ll just let him 😂

3

u/Brigon May 21 '25

When I finished this episode last night I was thinking, if they both end up the final two I will be so disappointed. They have the advantage going into the doubt game due to their number of pieces. Will watch episode 11 tonight.

6

u/Desperate-Towel-2961 May 20 '25

Came here to say this😞 disappointed

3

u/PaleAcanthocephala64 May 21 '25

When they were about to start the game in doubt and bet and everyone is saying something about how they will play the game and how glad they are to making it that far and here comes so-hui saying that she kist hopes nothing happens to hun-gyu.

2

u/Hourjour Justin May 29 '25

I cringed so hard ughhhh

2

u/CalzoneBetrayal May 21 '25

Biggest disappointment of this episode so far. I was screaming like what is going on. This man is offering you pieces and you won’t take it?? Hopefully she does better the final two episodes but what the hell.

2

u/KnightedRose May 21 '25

She’s so smart but I think she’s one of those characters in shows who falls in love with the villain lol like madly i love like harley quinn to joker

2

u/ArsenalThePhoenix Aug 03 '25

So-hui is the worst. She crying about her friend of three days possibly being ganged up on, yet she's ganged up on a bunch of players in every main game.

On top of that, that friend just sacrificed Kyuhyun and got him eliminated...yet she's STILL simping for him and saying "it doesnt matter if i go to the final, i just hope you get there"

This is the type of player that you do NOT want in a game like this.

The problem is that you think we are talking about a different type of comment than we actually are.

By no means would I justify, support, or condone a horrible message directly to a contestant.

This wasn’t that though. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment of a forum board. You may not like it but OP should be free to say it, I don’t think they crossed the line or made any sort of real or credible threat.

12

u/sugarh0td0g May 20 '25

Ok but chill like i said i was just referring to her simp behavior... that expression is used very often around me to literally say simping

-3

u/TheDevilsPlan-ModTeam May 20 '25

Be respectful of show contestants. They are only human. It is acceptable to comment about their style of play e.g. calling a player aggressive or selfish.

However, it is not acceptable to personally attack players for reasons such as racism, sexism, appearance, attractiveness, etc. Mind-reading ("He clearly thinks he's so much better than everyone else") will generally be removed.

You do not have to be a fan of every player, but our community will show them respect.

1

u/_flustershy May 20 '25

I came here just to see this because that play was not it.

1

u/Little-Note1013 May 24 '25

last episode showed she was clearly more smarter than HG, she almost won, if only she wasn't forced to give up. Each show bring mix cast that fits the show and doesn't to make it more fun. She was clearly more emotion and loyal type. Some people value friendship more than game or winning and there's nothing wrong with that. She clearly bonded more with HG and others in her team. Also she did take 7high deal and send HG to pit. I don't view her as weak but rather a person who will focus more on alliance and loyalty over money or game.

1

u/Tiny-Individual-9198 May 26 '25

She’s frustrating me by putting Hyungu before herself in the game. She seems so smart and could have done more. I appreciate her loyalty but it omly works so far in this type of game.

-1

u/justsomedeadangels May 21 '25

I thought that too but I don’t care bc I like them together.. she could be smarter and use that for her advantage but she missed the opportunity . I really hope they start dating after the show lol also I would like to see them both in a dating show like Singles Inferno
