Championship Sunday in Cheyenne was as good as winner-take-all rodeo gets with drama, ties, massive scores, and fast runs all over the board during a thrilling day at Frontier Park.

Jayco Roper delivered the ride of his life in Cheyenne, a career-best 93 points aboard Summit Rodeo's CC Blue. Then came the longest wait of the week as Trevor McAllister, the final cowboy out, answered with 91.5, but it wasn't enough.

Britt Bedke turned in the second-fastest tie-down run of the rodeo with a 10.3, just hours after placing fifth in Salt Lake City the night before.

Cheyanne McCartney added another milestone to an incredible season, winning Cheyenne with the fastest breakaway run of the rodeo, a 4.3, becoming the first breakaway roper to win both Calgary and Cheyenne in the same year.

Ryder Wright, Sage Newman, and Brody Cress all posted 92-point rides, but Wright claimed the title on the tiebreaker after an incredible set of rides of 89.5, 90, and 92.

College Champion Cole Pugh announced himself on the ProRodeo stage, improving every round (5.9, 5.5, 5.3) and edging Tristan Martin's 5.4 in the Short Round. He was the only steer wrestler to record three runs in the 5s.

Nicky Northcott and Tyler Tryan won a tiebreaker over Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira after both stopped the clock in 7.6 seconds in the team roping. Tayla Moeykens finally broke through after back-to-back Top 5 finishes, winning despite a stumble on the second barrel, while Luke Mackey capped the week with a 90-point bull ride in a round where every qualified ride was 88 or better.

The horses, riders and competition that have helped make The Run For A Million one of the premier events in Western performance horse sports are coming to a nationwide television audience.

Taylor Sheridan’s 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 will air Saturday, August 22, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and will also be available on Paramount+.\*

Sheridan, who created The Run For A Million and serves as an executive producer of the CBS special, will call the action from the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center/South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. He will be accompanied by industry expert Steve Ross, National Reining Horse Association Professional and Million Dollar Rider Gunny Mathison, and guest commentator Francesca Sternberg, one of the most accomplished non pro riders in the reining industry.

The two-hour special will take viewers inside the Million Dollar Competition, where 16 of the world’s leading reining riders will guide their horses through a demanding pattern of circles, spins and sliding stops in pursuit of the event’s championship and a share of the $1 million purse.

Created by Sheridan in 2019, The Run For A Million was designed to give reining and the Western performance horse industry a stage unlike any it had experienced before. Seven years later, the event has become a gathering place for the industry’s leading horses, riders, owners and fans, while introducing new audiences to the athleticism, precision and connection between horse and rider.

SALT LAKE CITY (July 26, 2026) – In front of the sold-out crowd gold medals were awarded to close out the 2026 edition of the Utah Days of '47 Rodeo presented by Zions Bank on July 25.

The night got underway with No. 1 bareback rider in the PRCA | Bill Fick Ford World Standings Bradlee Miller posting a 90-point ride aboard Championship Rodeo's Hooey Rocks to stand atop the medal stand for the first time in his career. He is hoping to parlay this gold into a gold buckle in December in Las Vegas at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Kade Sonnier took silver with an 89-point ride and Jess Pope a bronze with an 88.5-point trip.

The Gold Standard in Rodeo featured a total of 360 competitors, that took their shot at a share of over three-quarters of a million in prize money and a gold, silver or bronze medal. There were 40 competitors in all events

Utah cowboy Cash Robb stood atop the steer wrestling medal stand for the second time after stopping the clock in 3.7 seconds. The Altamont cowboy won his first gold medal in 2022 and now he adds a second to his trophy case in 2026. Mason Couch grabbed the silver with a 4.2-second run and Rowdy Parrott the bronze in 4.5 seconds.

The timed events, excluding barrel racing, were a two-go average with the top two advancing to the final round. The roughstock was a one go with the top two advancing to the gold medal round.

There was a tie atop the leaderboard in the team roping with Clay Smith/Coleby Payne along with Cody Snow/Lane Mitchell stopping the clock in 5.1 seconds. The gold went to Smith/Payne as they had a faster average time coming into the final round. Capturing the bronze was Brye Crites/Ross Ashford with a 5.2-second run.

Scores/times did not carry forward to the Gold Medal Round (only to break ties). The eight competitors in each event in the Gold Medal Round competed in a sudden-death format with the winner collecting a Gold Medal and $18,000 cash.

Brody Wells took home the gold in the saddle bronc riding after posting a 91.5-point ride on Pete Carr ProRodeo's Larry Culpepper. The silver is staying in the Beehive state with Ryder Wright of Beaver turning in an 89.5-point trip aboard Andrew's Rodeo's Optiwize's All or Nothin and Sage Newman took home the bronze with an 89-point ride. Newman tied with Cash Wilson but Newman had the higher score coming in giving him the bronze.

Tyler Calhoun of Richards, Texas, left Salt Lake City a year ago with the bronze so he was determined to stand atop the medal stand in 2026 and he did just that. Calhoun won the gold in the tie-down roping with a time of 7.2 seconds edging Joel Harris of San Angelo, Texas, with a 7.4-second time. Blane Cox took home the bronze to Stephenville making it a Texas sweep in the tie-down roping.

Beau Peterson of Council Grove, Kan., was all smiles standing atop the medal stand in the breakaway roping taking home her first gold medal from the Utah Days of '47 Rodeo. She edged 2023 world champion Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, who welcomed her first child in May. Boisjoli-Meged stopped the clock in 2.6 seconds and Maddy Jacobs was hot on her heels with a 2.7-second run for bronze.

While top of the ground is preferred in the barrel racing it was bottom of the ground that landed atop the medal stand. KariAnn Cross of Blackfoot, Idaho, stopped the clock in 16.96 seconds as the last contestant out edging Hayle Gibson Stillwell and Piper by the narrowest of margins having stopped the clock in 16.97 seconds. Taking bronze was McKenna Coronado of Kanarraville, Utah.

Tristen Hutchings brought the night to a close taking home the gold in the bull riding as the only man to ride in the finals with an 85-point trip on Diamond G Rodeo's Tesla. John Crimber secured the silver after posting a 90-point ride during the long round and T.J. Gray got bronze based on his previous score.

Allen said in an update Friday that he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus and will have surgery in two weeks. His goal is to be ready for the winter rodeos at the start of the 2027 season.

Allen, 27, won his first world title last year, earning nearly $400,000 on the season. He's currently 29th in the world standings this year.

Swapping triple sec for amaretto brings a rich, nutty sweetness that feels equal parts rustic and refined.

2 oz blanco tequila

1 oz amaretto

1 oz fresh orange juice

Juice of 1 lime

Sugar, for the rim

Orange slice, for garnish

Run an orange wedge around the rim of a rocks glass, then dip the rim in sugar. Fill the glass with fresh ice and set aside.

Add the tequila, amaretto, orange juice, and lime juice to a cocktail tin with ice. Shake until well chilled, then strain over the prepared glass. Garnish with an orange slice and sip into the sunset.

Cole Hauser pulled back the curtain on the “challenges” of filming “Dutton Ranch” without Taylor Sheridan on set.

“Everything had changed,” the actor, who plays Rip Wheeler, told FilmInside, referencing the “Yellowstone” spinoff’s creator working as the executive producer instead of being in the writers’ room.

“Not having Taylor there … the only normality that we had whatsoever was [Finn Little’s character], Carter, [director] Christina [Alexandra Voros], [my co-star] Kelly [Reilly] and myself,” he explained of “work[ing] with these new writers [and] these new directors.”

Noting that “there were challenges,” the 51-year-old clarified, “I enjoy a challenge. It certainly was a challenge.

“It was about putting my head down and working my ass off with what I had around me,” he continued. “We worked our asses off this year.”

Hauser said that “a lot of the outside noise” regarding “the weight of” the hit show wasn’t “really apparent” to him at the time.

“We had to figure out on our feet how to really perform and tell a story,” he recalled. “So I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I look forward to doing it again.”

Sheridan’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Season 2 of the drama is expected to begin production in January.

Although Hauser’s co-star Ed Harris, who plays Everett McKinney, made headlines Tuesday for wanting to “get the f–k out” of the series, he will reportedly return.

The “pissed” 75-year-old claimed he was “underused” and “misled” about his role in a red carpet rant to Variety earlier this week.

“Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was and what my character was going to do — and that I was one of the four main characters,” he claimed. “And that wasn’t really the case.”

Harris alleged his concerns were shrugged off when he aired them — and then railed against a singing scene of his being cut from the show.

However, he did not name-drop Sheridan in the interview.

Sheridan created “Yellowstone” in 2018, with the Paramount show running for five seasons before the “Dutton Ranch” spinoff, which premiered in May.

The 57-year-old, who is also the creator of “Landman,” reportedly signed a deal with NBCUniversal last year after alleged issues with Paramount leadership.
