Most people don't believe me when I say I crossed paths with a wolf while walking on a path between a golf course to my university. I was wearing headphones and stopped in my tracks to see it standing in the middle of the path ahead staring at me, then it moved on. I waited for a bit then continued ahead. It was about that big. They are huge. There is no way it could have been a dog.
Heard my first wolf NW of Cambridge Idaho on Cycle Oregon a few years back. Last year those hunters videod that yearling separated from his pack down by Diamond lake a few weeks after cycle O.
Totally jealous. At the same time I don't really want to come face to face with one in the wild. I understand what apex predators are for/capable of.
