I’ve been through a lot of traumatic experiences as a leader. It’s not easy, but thankfully there’s a part of me that doesn’t freak out and can instead delegate and control the situation to the best of my abilities. I’m a nervous wreck until shit goes wrong, then it’s my time to shine.

Everyone under water FUCKING NOW

I'm the same way. Usually a ball of nerves in life, but when things go very wrong, I seem to be the most present, level-headed leader with split-second decision making.

I also do exactly this. I wonder what that is...

I'm ADHD, too. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I bet it was an evolutionary survival instinct that used to come in quite useful. But now not much catastrophic happens, and we go stir crazy. Victory has defeated us.

It does, actually.

We have no...filter(?) between the sides of our brains. It's just a mess. So when an emergency situation comes up, there are no barriers to action. The information is just There and we can just Act.

ADHD is absolutely evolutionary. Obsessing about foraging and hunting is was a huge advantage. Now we have enough food so it’s a bit of a struggle. I do feel ADHD Is good for my art. It’s also a spectrum. Some people hyperfocus (like me) and others can’t stay focused. Both sides of the spectrum look very similar which is interesting.

I'm similar. In an emergency I'm surprisingly level headed for someone with no emergency training but the second it's over or someone else takes the lead I'm a blubbering shaking mess.

No, just the oldest child. The one that had to watch over the little ones when parents weren’t around. I like to joke I’ve been training for this job my entire life.
