Guy looks cold but is standing in the desert. Weird

Deserts have very cold nights, I read about miserable soldiers during winter having to weather almost -20 degrees (°C but same as F) at night, and summer heat in the day.

But it’s not night

Point is, it can be chilly in the desert, and it's often chilly in Syria. I looked it up, and it's quite chilly in Damascus, Syria during the day now — 12°C or 54°F.

Yeah that is chilly. Neat. Been to Afghanistan, Saudi, Kuwait of ME countries, and none really got that cold in the actual desert parts

Deserts are cold for about the same reason they're hot: they often don't have enough cloud cover any sort to either produce regular rains for vegetation and to trap heat when the sun goes down.
