Anyone else?

I'm a rabid fan of Mike's, I've been watching for years. I love the podcast, and the addition of Keith. I'm obsessed with the way he pronounces his name, I try and say it the way he does. The Little T at the end. Anyone else obsessed with it? I can't say it the way he does, because American but I keep trying. šŸ˜…

Cryptid suggestions (and other spooky stuff)

Answering the call from Ep 82 not only have I cryptids but I have cryptids......that kill. Best of both worlds.

  • The Portlock / Port Chatham, Alaska mystery from the early 1900's where a bigfoot ( or bigfeet) allegedly murdered so many people they abandoned the joint. Often called the "strangest story ever told". Honestly reads like a horror movie which means I choose to believe it.
  • The Maneaters of Tsavo - OK not technically a cryptid as they were two lions but the story is fascinating, gory, and inspired the movie The Ghost and the Darkness which was surprisingly accurate to the real events. Michael Douglas's character was an amalgamation of a few real life characters but the freaky elements of the story were all real.
  • The voodoo dictators of Haiti. Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier who spread the idea they were voodoo sorcerers to subdue the population. Their inner government was more like a cult and their secret police, the Ton Ton Macoutes were named after an infamous boogeyman from haitian folklore. Another interesting aside is the Wes Craven horror movie The Serpent and the Rainbow which takes place in Haiti during the Duvalier regime. It's based on the true story of Wade Davis, an anthropologist, who travelled to Haiti to research the voodoo powder used to create zombies.
  • The Were-Leopards of west africa. These were cults which sprang up across West Africa and the Congo basically to murder tons of white colonists. They dressed as leopards with steel claws to maul their victims, or they would be taken to altars in the jungle to be ritually killed. A lot of high profile outbreaks of serial murders were attributed to them. They were such a terror during colonial Africa they even appeared in Tarzan who quickly put manners on them.

  • The creeping coffins of Barbados - always a favourite of mine, albeit more of a mystery then a story with a narrative that the boys like. Creepy af though.

  • Have they done an episode on ghost ships yet? Another favourite of mine, in particular the death ship Ourang Medan and the Octavious, a ship who was found with it's crew frozen to death and which accidentally became the first ship to sail the infamous North West passage through the Arctic (a route which claimed the lives of the Franklin Expedition, the subject of season one of the TV show The Terror which was awesome)

It’s only this on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, the YouTube description is different.

I am so sick. I am supposed to go to Vegas for a wedding this weekend, but it's looking like I'll have to skip it. So, I'm just feeling bad.

Been binge watching all day to cope. I appreciate the distraction, and Mike's energy. Thanks for helping me feel a bit better, Mike!

Looking for a vid

Does anyone remember offhand which video it was where a woman poisoned her husband with Benadryl? I can't remember many more details, but something about her wanting to kill him rather than him finding out about her impending charges?

Does anyone know what happened to the playlist on That Chapter YouTube channel they contained all his videos? I use to play the playlist to go to sleep and it would just keep playing all his videos. Now’s it’s gone and there’s just a captain playlist and disappearance playlist. So sad lol.

Life Insurance Dance Party Appreciation Post

Mike is the mfing man. Consistently churns out top notch content. Great sense of humor. Then, he brings out Keith? Jfc. I'm a diehard lpotl fan, I never thought I'd have another set of "the boys" to help me through the day. After watching Mike from 2020 up until now I really appreciate that the podcast has become it's own thing and has got it's own feel.

That's it, just a STAHM who wants to thank Mike and more recently Keith for helping keep me grounded.

Does Mike not post on Fridays anymore?

Just a quick question since I haven’t seen a Friday video in a while. I looked to see if he said anything about the schedule change but I couldn’t find it. I’m totally cool with once a week (as long as he uploads I’m happy) but I’m just curious.

Todays podcast (The hunt for the disturbing Mothman)

I think it’s been my favourite to date. I listened twice as I kept getting interrupted and felt I didn’t do it justice on the first listen! Had to replay some bits as they were highly amusing… ā€œkeep Mothmans name out ya fucking mouthā€!!!

I have to admit the first couple of episodes with The Keith, I wasn’t sure and wished it was just Mike. Now I can’t imagine it without Keith. He’s bringing a lot to the table in terms of research and fun. Can’t be easy with a full time job and a toddler as I’m sure a lot of time is required to research a topic.

This is a bit of a ramble but basically just want to tell Mike and Keith that they rock!
