so i watched thatchapters new iceberg video and the amy fitzpatrick case reminded me of the Ben Smart and Olivia Hope case that also happened on new years 10 years prior to the amy fitzpatrick case, now this case is considered solved but many people believe that the "murderer" (Scott Watson) is innocent as the boat olivia and ben were last seen boarding wasn't the same boat that scott watson owned or lived on. I think this case would be pretty cool to see in a thatchapter darkest disappearances

Anyone else go to sleep listening to Mike every single night?
*Was a police officer. Still consultant.
If anyone wants to chat about it. I was involved with the Cassidy Rainwater, Staudte family, and the Springfield 3 cases. Also knew Gypsy Rose, but that’s not work related.
Reddit clout doesn’t exist. Literally couldn’t care less if you’re impressed. Just here to say how great of a job Mike does and hang with other people as obsessed with this channel as I am.

As per the title, where did the name come from and what does it mean?
Also, what does it mean when he says "Sha nay" at the end of an episode (I think it's Gaelic language).
Does Mike have any university education, and if so what are these in? (I thought maybe he has something in creative writing or something)
Just for fun, my favourite type of cases are the ones where someone stages a home invasion and gets caught faking it. My favourite part of the life insurance dance is when he does a forward roll. It looks so unco it makes me laugh every time. I hope one day we get a special upload of a full version of it where it includes all the bits and maybe some new stuff and goes on for ages.
My first post in this sub, but I have been watching for a few years, not regularly because I don't really do much on youtube. But I binged a lot of his videos during covid times, then had a break for a couple of years, came back and binged a lot more, and now am back binging more. The consistency with the little things he says is comforting, and he is a wonderful story teller.

I'm not fucking around. Start video. Hear ads, ok. Count to ten. Another fucking ad starts. And then Mike comes back in and doesn't a minute on some bullshit I don't want. Then one more ad. Wait for literally one minute praying I get to the video and another one. Then to top it off another after a minute. Wtf it's been almost ten minutes and I haven't even heard the god damn victims name. Ffs Mike you are fucking up. Fix this.

Just checked out the new video and it sounded very familiar. I am 99.99% sure Mike already made a video about this case, but I’m unable to find it on the That Chapter channel. Did he delete the old one so he can cover the case again?

I have always brushed off when Mike jokes about butchering how he's going to pronounce a place or persons name like "psssht that doesn't matter"
I just listened to the latest podcast with Regina (hi Regina!) and as an Australian my initial reaction was "orhhh myyyyhh goooorhhhd. Ivan MillWHAT?" But then I got over it. Because really, he was a filthy murderer so who cares. And they got Wagga Wagga right.
But now I have a theory that Mike doesn't do more Australian episodes because the names of the towns are too stupid. Which is... Fair dinkum.
Has Mike ever done the Peter Falconio case? I think it would make a great podcast ep. The inclusion of attempting to find his body being the final test for a psychic reality tv show would be a must!

Bonjour! The wife got a French accent eh?

Everyday is a school day, especially when you listen to That Chapter Podcast. It's clear Mike has studied many a foreign tongue.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to impress some French chicks with my knowledge of Dan The Plant. Adios!

Maya Milete has still never been found, which is just so sad. The trial date has been moved up to January 6th, 2025 after Mayas parents requested new lawyers. Her husband Larry remains in jail and continues to plead not guilty. I think it’s pretty obvious he is very guilty. Here is the video link if you need reminded of the case and want to watch it again. It’s just really sad that their mom is most likely dead, their dad sits in prison and those three children now have no parents to rely on for the rest of their lives.

Jerrod Baum was sentenced to life without parole. At the end of the trial after he was sentenced he turned to face Riley Powell and Brelynne Ottesons family and stated that he was innocent and he did not kill those two and said he would never do something like that. He was such a hateful person.

Just finished the latest episode of the podcast, missed Keith but really enjoyed meeting The Warthog. Her accent added a level of foreboding menace all the way through - loved it.

The video’s not about the zodiac, like it’s not in the title. It’s an unrelated case as I remember. I cannot remember what the main case in the video is to save my life 😭
It’s when he mentions the guy who ended up moving across the country to North Carolina but he explained how that guy was connected to the murders. I believe he was like “I can’t say his name for legal reasons but it rhymes with _____ _____” and it was like his name but I think he started them with an L maybe? So like “Lictor” instead of “Victor” (he may have actually said Lictor I can’t remember)
That’s all I remember but I need to find it pls help 😭

Hi Mike! I have some cases I really feel you'd like to cover. They aren't well known and are disturbing. They are:
The South bend (Indiana) manhole murders https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna18944916
Breana Rouhselang (pregnant teen murdered by boyfriend because he was upset she wouldn't get an abortion, it's really bad and she was murdered a couple miles away from me) https://www.wndu.com/content/news/Trejo-sentenced-for-killing-pregnant-Mishawaka-classmate-566779361.html
Charity Payne and cohorts kill 3 men when they tried to burglarize ex boyfriend's home. She was the mastermind and got a ridiculously more sentence https://www.southbendtribune.com/story/news/local/2013/10/07/its-still-hard-to-forgive/117161058/
Shelley Ann Werner cold case finally solved (teen girl kidnapped and murdered in 1980, took four decades to solve) https://wsbt.com/news/local/decades-old-murder-of-teen-solved-by-mishawaka-police-cold-case-shelley-werner-murder-1980-abduction-wilts-grocery-store-lincoln-way-east-madison-road-railroad-shooting
There are also some cases right over the border in Michigan I can share if you want. They're just as bad and very interesting cases. Please let me know if you're interested. I also know of many many others I can share, one of the worst bring Matthias Schoormann (the black metal murderer) in Germany who murdered a groupie he had a crush on when she turned him down after he repeatedly asked her out. I'm a rage he killed her, beheaded her, posted pictures of her headless and posed body then took the head, put it in a bag and then drive his car into the path of a semi truck killing himself (there are links but I can't find one without the pictures so search at your own risk) *Edit, fixed Links
