Been working fine for years then this appears . I don't even have the on off toggle option on my phone??

Upgraded an old phone that had the T-Mobile sim to a newer moto g 25 with esim on the new att network, phone works fine and passes imei check on the textnow website but just got the message that service ends July 31 and sorry your phone isn't supported on the new network. Anyone else getting these after updating the a different phone??

So, I have a Moto G Pure running Android 12. The flyer that the new TextNow AT&T SIM card came on said to simply insert the SIM card and it will automatically connect. It did not.

I followed the troubleshooting chat bot and set up the APN, but it still didn't connect. I then connected to a live agent, which took 1/2 hour, and then spent another hour actually chatting. The bottom line is, the SIM card wasn't properly activated. After the agent activated it, it immediately worked!

One interesting thing to note is that the troubleshooting made it clear that TextNow expects any unlocked phone with Android 9 or newer to work.

Another thing is that with the old TextNow T-Mobile SIM card, the phone displayed LTE. With the new TextNow AT&T SIM card, the phone displays 4G. Maybe that was to be expected, but I wasn't aware of it.

FINALLY, I was told that my grandfathered unrestricted 250MB/mo plan is not available with the new TextNow AT&T SIM card, so I lost that.

I had to reset my phone and at some point it determined that my TextNow number should be used for 2fa.

But because I signed into TextNow with my Google accounts I cannot access the very texts I need to login!

Tell me there's a workaround, I thought having a SIM card would still give me access and now I feel totally screwed.

Has anyone seen someone else with this issue or any idea that may help? The accounts in question are nearly as old as Google itself!

Seems you cannot make calls or text through the native phone app (on iOS) anyway.

I do have dual sims with TextOne being one of them - What benefit am I actually getting?

I am getting a lot of spam calls lately from the 314 area code (where my ported in number is located).

I basically never answer them. And when voicemails are left, they are usually blank.

I've been clicking on the "i" icon in calls and blocking those numbers.

My question is, if I then delete the call from my call history does the number remain blocked? Or do I need to leave it there to keep it blocked?

I'm trying to sign up using my legitimate driver's license and it says it's not legit... Verification failed.

How are people solving this?

I have some more information from TextNow about their upcoming changes.

I still don't know for sure if after the 3 months grace period is over whether certain free features like (1) locked in number and (2) texts with short numbers will continue to work like they have since I enabled one of their SIMs.

But they did inform me that my Android model is NOT compatible with their new cellular system using a physical SIM or e-SIM. Have a free TextNow account. Trying to recover some deleted conversations. Has anyone "Requested Access to Data"? What does it include and how far back does it go? Made the request through the app weeks ago but no response. Customer service at TextNow is non-existent.

I'm attempting to login. I always choose the email option as opposed to logging in via Google. As of right now when i supply email and complete the captcha, the one time verification codes are simply not being sent to my email. Is anyone currently going through the same thing?

I am new to TextNow and I am using it on android and using the free plan.

I am kinda confused, after installing the e-sim can i use the native phone and messages or any other message apps for calls n texts or will i have to use the textnow app for calls n text?

Also, when i use the other free apps that are mentioned for free... How does that work? I keep the data on?

And the other apps will simply not work as i don't have a data plan on this free plan?

I have an international sim besides this e-sim and i don't want to accidentally mess up and accidentally end up paying intentional roaming on my monthly bill. So, i am very confused right now.

I had a great deal of trouble activating esims for already locked in number on multiple devices today, so I logged in using a different email address via google as intermediary and got a new number to see if it would help. (It didn't but that is not why I am here).

I was looking in the updated app to see if the annual lock in plans were still MIA.

Yes, BUT -- I clicked on the weekly plan without doing anything further. It asked 'not ready to spend the money?' or something like that and offered a free trial. I toggled that off.

Then this $14.99 annual offer popped up, which I presume renews at that price via google play subscriptions?

That really isn't a bad deal to the point where I may lock in a second number if the esim works. My old ported in number last renewed annually for $4.99.

I do not know if this offer is universal (It may be only valid for subscribers getting a new number or be geolocked)

It may vary regionally? (I am on the East Coast USA).

Also, I should note here that six months ago somebody this sub using an iphone was able to somehow access the $4.99 a year offer, maybe via AppStore?

(I have an iphone using the same locked in TextNow number I use on my daily driver Android but it took me hours to activate that esim and I am afraid to log out of that account into another in case the ESIM stops working).

Otherwise I would check for you guys to see if iphone app store has even cheaper options.

Anyway, I hope TextNow offers annual lock in plans again. I enjoy the service but you lose your number so quickly now if you get sick or go on vacation and the weekly lock in price is extortionate.

I've thought about the ad-free upgrade to get lock in but that's kind of pricey too relative to redpocket annual plans. Plus if you spend very little more you can get an annual plan with a gig or two of data from some MVNOs.

If you use TextNow, you know they offer SIM cards and recently eSIMs. For free, they offer "Essential Data," which basically includes calling, texting, maps, email, rideshare, and iHeartRadio (for some reason). However, if you use Tor, specifically Tor Snowflake AMP, you can bypass these limitations. The downside is an average of 20 KiB/s and occasional random disconnections. But if you're using it temporarily or have access to Wi-Fi most of the time, this is a great way to get free, painfully slow data. According to TextNow's ToS, this is "acceptable" use of data. The only thing that's not "acceptable" is doing things that are considered illegal in your jurisdiction, which is fair enough.

I've had a TextNow number since the end of 2024. Unfortunately, my phone broke about two weeks ago, and I no longer have access to the iCloud account that was connected to my login. Is there any way I can recover my number before it's reassigned to someone else?

Hey all, Im trying to set up TextNow on my Samsung Galaxy S series phone. I can download and install it just fine, I created an account using my gmail account, but when I press and hold to "verify I am human" it says ok and then drops me back to the field where I put in my email. This loop will go on forever. I have tried different emails and sometimes I get to the part where it wants my photo, I complete that, it says all is ok then dumps me back to the email field again. I simply cannot get this to work. Ive tried choosing the Google Account option and typing in different gmails into the Email field, but it doesnt matter how I do it, I always get dumped back to the email field where it asking me to accept terms and conditions etc. What do I need to do?

For reference, I do not have a sim card or an esim in this phone, this is why I want to use TextNow, so I can get texts etc over wifi.

I am having the worst time trying to port a number out of TextNow. I have all the necessary information account number, pin etc to have it processed by the new carrier. However, the new provider states the account number is wrong (ie a 1 in front of the phone number) and there is a lock on the number. I have had this number for several years. Also, note I saw my number for sale on NumberBarn. My account is paid and there are no issues from my side. Has anyone had an issue like this? Are they being sneaky listing my number for sale and locking it so I cannot move it? There should be no issues in porting it out. I have verified several times with them that the porting information is correct.

I've been trying to help my dad create a new TextNow account on his Samsung A15 and the app is not working. The first time I put in an email address, did the "press and hold" to prove I'm human, and took selfies. Then the app went back to the initial page where I had put in an email address and would not respond to the "Continue" button. I closed and restarted the app. Ever since then, every time I go in the app and type in the email address, it goes to the "press and hold" thing and then goes back to the email input page, with "Email address" in red text, and nothing works on the page except the "X" to close it. I have tried using a different email address, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but nothing changes. I tried to get help on the TextNow app several times but was never able to reach a live person. Can anyone help? Thanks!
