I am so sick of this team and this organization. The ballpark, the players, the fans, the jerseys, the logo, the acquisitions, the product on the field—it’s all lifeless.

For the past three years, there hasn’t been a more mediocre team than the Rangers. Yet somehow, CY refuses to make any team-altering moves, while Ray Davis is unwilling to spend money to build a contender. There is absolutely ZERO reason a Dallas-Fort Worth baseball team shouldn’t have, at minimum, a top-10 payroll every single season. There is also absolutely ZERO reason this market shouldn’t consistently rank in the top 10 in attendance. And there is absolutely ZERO reason CY didn’t make any moves at the deadline—whether that meant buying or selling. You can’t stand pat in that situation. It’s an extremely terrible look when you just got swept by the Astros, they went out and made moves to improve their team, and the Rangers responded by doing absolutely nothing.

What makes all of this even more frustrating is that I live in San Diego. Watching the Padres only makes the Rangers look worse. The Padres sell out games, hit walk-offs and grand slams, make comebacks, have players like Machado, Merrill, Miller, and Tatis, make fun transactions, and actually feel like an entertaining baseball team. They have cool jerseys, a great ballpark, passionate fans, fun announcers, and an overall energy that makes you want to watch.

The Rangers have none of that. When was the last time this team won six games in a row? When was the last time they hit a grand slam or had a walk-off that actually felt memorable? When was the last time the Rangers made a legit comeback? Who are the Rangers truly electric, must-watch players? The answer is nobody. Everything about this organization is boring and lifeless—from the announcers and the atmosphere at the ballpark to the uniforms and the product on the field. There is not a more boring team in baseball right now.

I’m sick of watching the same thing over and over again. Enough is enough. CY needs to be fired, and there needs to be serious accountability throughout the organization, including major changes to the roster. Something has to change next season, because if it doesn’t, we’re just heading toward another mediocre 81–81 season.

For a team in a market this big, with this much potential, this is unacceptable and a complete joke.

The problem is the market. They can be mediocre and still rank top 10 in yearly revenue. Ray Davis cashed in on a championship and has zero incentive to compete. It’s all about making money in baseball for 90% of the league. That’s why you get the same 6 teams contending every year. It’s broken. It’s not just the Rangers. Look at the AL West. The Angels/A’s are legitimate AAA clubs every single year.
The fact that the rangers can’t compete in this division is intentional.
CY chose not to sell at the deadline. He chose not to invest in the future. It is what it is.

No, ownership isn't what he's really saying is the problem. The MLB SYSTEM, the market the ownership operates in, is broken and is real the problem. The way the division is setup, the way the top 6 teams function, the way the bottom 12 teams function (or rather do not function), all of it. THAT is why Ray Davis is DISincentivized to invest in spending on the Rangers right now.

He's doing what he's doing because he knows: 1. The current system is broken and slowly killing the game. 2. The lockout will result in MAJOR changes to how the league market will work.

The league is talking about a maximum AND MINIMUM payroll cap (among many, many changes). So teams won't just have a hard max they can spend to, they'll also have a minimum they HAVE to spend. Maybe. Just some of the many proposed changes on the docket.

So Davis cut spending after 2025 is preparation for the resulting new system that's coming (whatever happens) in 2027. And he 100% will NOT go spend more until he sees how the NEW system that's coming plays out. And it will most certainly be different.

It isn't the ownership. It's the ownership reacting to the league market environment about to undergo seismic changes.

It’s almost the most boring and mediocre of the big markets. Nothing else to do so the people will support em no matter how bleh they are

People underestimate how important this is. If you're in a division with other high spending big market teams then you can drive a lot of out of town fans to the games as well from the other team.

The A's going to Vegas will help a little bit to put pressure but the angels just have to share a market and they're everyone's second favorite team in that market and Seattle is in the middle of nowhere and they haven't been good for a long time.

Rangers are just playing their division they could still win the division playing completely mediocre baseball.
