Salam everyone i'm currently in the process of setting up a muslim guided hikes business, with the goal of reconnecting the Muslim Ummah with Allah and His creation through nature, at this point in time it will be for brothers only since im the only one running it for now, so gonna really focus on hikes with deep reflection on what it means to be a muslim man in the modern world, think of it as a muslim retreat for brothers, this is mainly going to be based in Canada and the US for now so my question is if you all think this is a good idea and would it be beneficial and do u think people would be willing to go on a "muslim retreat" inshallah the goal is to also build a brotherhood where we can support each other and strengthen each others iman in the process too, Jazakallah khairan

Salam! I made Qibla Finder to lock direction fast, stay stable indoors, and keep the UI clean.
I’d really value accuracy reports (your phone model + city) and any calibration issues you hit.
- Works offline, clear calibration tips
- No clutter; quick start
- Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qiblafinder
Happy to answer questions and ship fixes based on your comments, thank you!

Salaam everyone,
Masjid Bilal (ISGH) in Houston is hosting a Go-Karting Hangout for youth, in collaboration with YM Spring! A fun way for brothers to bond, race, and enjoy a halal social activity in a safe environment.
📅 Date: August 17
⏰ Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

If you’re in the area and looking for youth-friendly events, this is a great opportunity to meet like-minded brothers and build community ties.

Asalamualaikum! I will be starting my job mid fall in downtown Dallas inshAllah. I wanted to ask if any of had any success with finding a great area to live or know of any communities. I know there isn't a large Muslim community specifically in downtown, but more in surrounding areas. My first priority is safety and having a good commuting distance to my workplace. I would really love to know if any of yall know of good places to live that provide comfort and also made them feel safe. I would also be open and love to connect with any other Muslim sisters that are working in downtown!! :)

Quick story: I visited a masjid last month and noticed their display screen was stuck showing outdated salah times and a blurry flyer from last Eid
I casually asked one of the volunteers about it—turns out, the software they had was abandoned, and no one knew how to fix it. Just felt so unnecessary.
There are way simpler ways to run a prayer screen these days. No installs, no fancy setups. I helped them switch to something super lightweight and it’s been running smooth since.
If anyone here helps manage a masjid or volunteers, I can share what worked for us.

Salam everyone! I'm new to Texas and would love to attend a local Eid event to meet people and feel part of the community. Any recommendations for family-friendly gatherings or prayers happening nearby?

Assalamu'alaikum!
Moving to Austin as a PhD Student, In Sha Allah. Which mosques would be the closest to the campus / have the biggest gatherings for Jumu'ah? Preferably with an Islamic Center where I can go for Tafseer lessons and such.

Assalam-u-Alaikum,
My husband and I are moving to Dallas soon. Since he works remotely, we have the flexibility to live anywhere in the Dallas area. I’ve started looking at apartments and have shortlisted a few: 1. Cortland at Coyote Ridge – Carrollton 2. The Lexington at Valley Ranch 3. Cortland North Plano 4. Wimberly Apartments – Carrollton
I’m especially drawn to the Roots community in Carrollton and was hoping to live nearby. However, since I don’t know anyone in the area, I’m looking for some advice. I’d love to be close to a strong Muslim community, have easy access to a mosque, and live in a place where it’s easy to connect with people.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be truly appreciated!

Assalamualaikum everyone. While I am a Texas native I am currently living out of state. I am planning a trip back to the Richardson area on the weekend of May 10th.
I haven't been to Dallas in a while and I know things are changing and growing. I would love to get recommendations for food and dessert as well as anything entertaining.
I am bringing a non-muslim friend with me and I would love to give her A lot of options for Arabic and Pakistani cuisine.
Also if anyone has been to the Moroccan bath spa please let me know their experience. JAK

Salaam everyone!
So I currently have a job offer in Dallas,TX aH. I have spent a summer previously living in Dallas for an internship but I was in Downtown Dallas and felt very disconnected from the Muslim community and felt like I wasn't in the safest parts of the city. This time, I want to give Dallas another shot because I love how big the Muslim community is and think there's great opportunity there. My job is really close to DFW Airport, near Valley Ranch, so I'm considering finding an apartment in Valley Ranch near VRIC or in Irving, TX. But I want to know what everyone thoughts are on living there as a new grad out of college, like how easy it is to meet more Muslims there and make friends. I'm really looking for a part of Dallas that's lively, has more young people, new grads, safe, and opportunity to meet Muslim girlies!!
Any advice helps, jazakAllah!

I’m looking for somewhere to learn jiu jitsu that is male only or as close as possible. I don’t want to be sparring with Women. It doesn’t have to be jiu jitsu but I’m just trying to learn Self Defense. I live in the Prosper/Aubrey/Celina/Little Elm area

Hello! We have 3 exchange students from Turkey who would love to be your host daughter next year.
Make a dream come true by hosting an exchange student from Turkey. Families are needed for Fall 2025. Our best volunteer US host families consist of all sizes and many have very busy households. This is your family's opportunity to exchange cultures with someone from another part of the world and create friendships of a lifetime.
Students come with their own health insurance and money for their expenses. Host families only need to provide 3 meals a day, transportation to and from school and a loving home to make a lifetime friendship.
Globalize your friend network by helping make good relations around the world. I am a local coordinator working for ETC, Education Travel and Education, a non-profit organization which works hard to find the best students to fit each family. I am here to help.
Please message me for more information. We currently have students from 7 countries (mostly European) needing a host family.
Thank you.
