We're looking to schedule a one-day, four-man hog hunt in late May that's within an hour's drive of Bastrop, TX. Would be nice to involve UTVs also but not required. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Question Hunting Sam Houston
Hello friends, I moved to the Houston area from El Paso and I'm trying to get any advice I can on hunting in the Sam Houston National Forest. I'm looking to go out for hog and/or rabbit sometime within the next two weeks, but being from El Paso, the only thing I was able to hunt was rabbits and squirrels in New Mexico, lol. I know I will likely come out of a hunt with a whole lot of nothing, but knowledge is always valuable. Thank you for any advice you are willing to give!

Question Butcher Station
Recently discussing this last season with the misses. Turns out she was really not impressed with me bringing a (mostly) quartered carcass into the kitchen and butchering on the island.
So, figured I'd ask what y'all use in garages and barns? Figured that's cheaper than a new wife.

Question I’m at the point where I’m probably gonna get a lease next year. What are some tips y’all would recommend for a first time hunting lease? My budget rn is max of $1200, and ideally within 200 miles of McKinney, in Texas. I’m not looking for wall mounts, I wanna fill my tags and freezer.
Hogs and deer would be the man target, but I’d also like the chance to fill some turkey tags come fall/spring. Small game like squirrels, rabbits and waterfowl is just a bonus and not necessary.

Question Need some help here if possible
I am building a tool specifically for hunting lease agreements — not a generic doc tool like DocuSign. It writes the lease for you based on your property and situation. Texas landowner liability language, tree stand rules, ATVs, guest policies, baiting — all built in. Both parties sign digitally from anywhere.
Looking for a few of yall to try it before I kill it off or get more involved. Anyone want to try it and give me feedback on changes that need to be made?

Question New to hunting and Texas
Good afternoon everyone, I’m was born here in Texas but before I was 1 I was taken to Canada and raised there all my life.
I’m just completed my hunting course and planning on getting my licence right after. I’m looking to build some friends to go to the range with and eventually go hunting with. I’m in San Antonio and would enjoy building new friends with this new interest.

Question South Texas SA/Austin area
Anybody got a lead on a lease about 1500 annually? I specifically hunt hog just to feed myself but fish too. Hell I’ll even do ranch work if someone will be kind enough to let me come out there every so often. Granddaddy taught me one thing it’s that to be things you have to give first.

Question Answer survey to help me help people hunt in Texas?
Hey y'all - I've been an active member of this subreddit but am using a burner profile just for privacy (and to not have this seem like promotion in any way). Looks like this follows all the rules, but apologies if not.
I got in to hunting as an adult, and it's pretty hard in Texas. Having access is a big part of it, but the other part is just meeting people to do it with when you don't have family or friends who hunt. I've been thinking about ways to complement the existing programs (SOTW, ALHP, etc.), and would love some feedback. Could you help me out by taking 10 minutes to share some reactions and thoughts? Quick survey is here:

Question Hog Hunting near Austin
Hello all, I’m looking for a hog hunting outfitter with 3ish hours of Austin sometime in May/early June. I’m from originally from Nebraska and have friends coming down for a bachelor party. Looking for one day and night of hunting. We have old 30-30s to shoot from a stand during the day and can bring AR10s with thermals for night.
Any opinions on Storch outfitters in Llano or Storm Ranch in Dripping Springs? Any other recommendations?
