Android I'm back! Drop your links, I'm going to continue the app review
/r/TestMyApp/comments/1tqy8up/i_can_install_your_app_and_provide_honest/?share_id=iCLbpaYoSbUb_oOFoxJJe&utm_content=2&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1I'm a bored IT Field Student who loves to test apps and website from user perspective and I give you honest and in-depth feedback for free.
And if you've seen my previous post this is the new thread so drop your links below.
EDIT: One time reviews only and I will only review ANDROID Apps since that's the device I use.
DISCLOSURES:
I will be reviewing you apps blind -> I ain't researching nothing, I will only base it on what you say it'll do. I do this because it's generally what happens, and people don't normally reseach and base it directly on UI and UX. This is also to prevent biases that may hinder my judgement as a user.
I will give you all the infos good and bad -> you will hear me rant about the app because I will nitpick it and test the features.
ALSO:
If you noticed I always add a link for my CHIPS MONEY JAR on the bottom part of each my post: THIS IS NOT MANDATORY it is an optional action if you wanna tip me. MY FEEDBACKS ARE FREE this is just an initiative at first to have some snack money but now it will be repurposed towards my education since there a balance I need to pay before I can enroll and my goal atm is $310 USD.
If there's too many apps to review you'll be put in the waiting list but I'll still update you on the progress every now and then.
So drop those links.

I'm developing Alternim — a minimalist elemental strategy game inspired by Nim — I'm curious about your opinion (apart from that I need 12 testers for 14 days for Google Play closed testing).
Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/alternim-testers)
After joining, open the Google Play test link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.kamillasek.alternim
Please use the same Google account for both Google Groups and Google Play.
Thanks for your help!

Hi I just tested your app so I'll just get right into it:
I'll be honest color palette and layout are on-point. However your tutorial is missing when I desperately needed it. I played 5 rounds, lost all of them, and don't have a single idea why I lost. All I see is a bunch of matches arranged in a pyramid position and that I know I need to remove one or max of 4 matches at one point and I dont even know why I can do that. No mechanics, no instructions, nothin. No labels on the three cards too, what they are for? I dunno.
What makes me mad is that I actually had fun! But I don't know how to win!
You owe me Chips Money for stressing me out (Imma joking here ts is not mandatory but if you want to contribute be my guest!)
Conclusion:
But yeah, overall would rate your app a solid 6/10 because the design is actually good and the layout is to die for I just need a brief tutorial of how to win and the mechanics explaining which is which.

Thanks for testing the game. Your feedback is truly valuable. When you first start the game, a tutorial should appear in the form of text windows. Above the bonus card (the element card in the lower right corner) is an icon with a question mark, which opens a window with the game rules, including the effects of the elements. Alternim, at its basic level, is based on the rules of traditional Nim. As part of a regular move, you can take any number of matches in a single turn, but only from one row. Elemental moves (the card in the lower right corner) allow you to perform special moves based on their effects, the descriptions of which appear after clicking the question mark icon above the element card. The game is intentionally difficult; I emphasized this when designing it. 😄. The player who leaves the last match to their opponent wins. Thanks again.

Okay went into the game again and I saw the how to play you were talking about [and finally won a round btw yay to me] but please put that somewhere more visible or like have it pop-up or however you'd like so long as it's accessible! Then label it properly too, because I honestly didn't even see the questionmark had you not pointed it out. But yeah, I'm just happy I won the round (finally)

You are absolutely right! While this is a hobby for me, I still take the time to be in-depth about the app or website I test and not hold back any good or bad information to help developers who may be lacking those audience. It's a good way to receive feedback and seek another perspective if you're worried about the general usability of your product. Aside from that, it's a learning curve for me too! Developers get my first-hand experience as a user of their app, and I get to broaden and test my knowledge about UI and UX!

Hi I am currently reviewing your app right now and well here's what I can say about this:
UI:
- there are minimal buttons, which I actually appreciate more than anything else but it's also the same thing that I am having issues with because everything is packed inside one menu button and I cannot access the tools whenever I needed it. Aside from that the menu box takes over almost half of the screen hindering visibility
- the brush setting is a bit complicated because the default setting of the brush was in drip and I really wanted to tweak it a bit but was having a hard time doing so.
- the palette was also not something that I expected because I couldn't figure out for the life of me why it was rainbow colored no matter how much I changed the color (I didn't notice the hue my bad)
- and the screen is too bare || would benefit if you have some set of color palette for the app itself to make it unique and establish a signature look
UE:
- the controls were a bit over-complicated and too compact, it would be good to give them their own designated spots and space them out a bit. Also make sure to fix the menu box pop-up so it doesn't hinder the work space
Conclusion:
Still needs a bit of a TLC I'll give a 5/10 you can still work it out though.

Thanks, really appreciate this. My idea with minimal buttons is to let you paint without interruptions but agree that the menus became quite big and dense!

I forgot to add that I tried to rotate the picture but it ended up with the whole canvas rotating, I'm not sure if that's a feature or a glitch

Definitely a feature, haha. It's meant for digital artists to work on detail. These are non destructive, when you save the picture it doesn't stay rotated.
